I understand parking will be by model as per Renault Heritage / Classic guidelines so no club politics to get in the way.
Renaultsport members get ready for national forum meet
The countdown to the second Renaultsport National Forum meet has begun with less than a month to go before more than 200 hot hatch owners are expected to descend on the famous Motor Museum in Gaydon.
Sunday, 17th April is the date for the much-talked about event dubbed ‘The National Meet Mark II’ after last year’s successful inaugural event which attracted around 140 Renaultsport models both past and present.
This year’s event hopes to surpass that with even more Renaultsport models – from Clio V6s to Clio Williams – attending the Warwickshire event with owners from www.renaultsport.co.uk and other forums such as www.meganesport.net.
Chris Day, one of the three organisers from last year, has once again helped put the event together with support from Renault UK and Renaultsport. “The basis of the meet will be similar to last time but with even more support from Renault who are kindly covering the cost of the venue hire and also donating prizes for a charity raffle on the day,” says Chris who goes by the name ‘Dayc’ on the Renaultsport forum. “Renault will also be providing hospitality during the event which is great,” continues Chris.
Once again the cars will be the stars of the show with all manner of Renaultsport models represented as Chris explains: “There will be a number of Clio V6s attending like last year when a convey of Phase I and Phase II Clio V6s arrived along with Evo editor Nick Trott in his liquid yellow V6.” Adding: “As well as the Renaultsport models from the more recent line-up, we’ve also invited members from the Renault Alpine Owners’ Club so there should be a number of rare vehicles there too...there’s also more car parking spaces this year which should help fit everyone in!”
In addition to the cars, the meet is a great opportunity for members to socialise and put names to faces as well to recount stories of who travelled the furthest to get there...a record currently held by one couple who drove from Scotland to make last year’s event!
The meet is open to all, not just Renaultsport owners, and to find out more visit the forum posts on the Renaultsport website.
