Which you will probably get reminded that its the guest drivers who display their cars that provide the refreshment fund. I'd rather have a better maintained car with access to reman spares than a drink though.

Happy to contribute to the "steps to get A610 pistons without having to pay 250 each" fund.....
Its noticeable that the Venturi pistons have shorter skirts than the NA 3 litre, I wonder how the A610 compares.
I suspect that quality of metal will also be a contributory factor to wear.

Seeing all those bits there, does anyone do new cams for the PRV?

Pins are the same as a 2.5 aren't they? No 3 litre liners, sorry.... But you'll get a set of those in a donor Laguna engine innit, and 6 pins :D

Hopefully got a decent set of pots from MrF .They will be sent off for hone then chosen for position in the block .
Pistons all look OK .Crank is fine ,cams are good enough one journal scored but OK .
Will be getting the cam profile for future ref .Drop a liner into the engine guys next week so they can fix the block .Hopefully collect heads .

I'd guess that they'll all say they can if you either tell them what it is already or give them the old ones for them to regrind..

I expect people like Ferry, Riess, Kern, Meca and Simon to have them.

8) once you have their price, have a word with CLee, more than a few profiles now - OE to race

Yes different LCAs, lifts, and ramp profiles have all been done, correctly phased LH and RH, and if you know the subtleties you will know why.

Martin,
am I getting close with Subaru pistons 2.0 into an A610? Right stoke and bore...short skirt too...CR isn't too far out in original figment either.

:) very good pistons, although they wouldn't be suited, the later Subaru pistons have insufficient oil control, down to the oil scrapper ring for the PRV. Very nice low friction ring package and very rigid piston, so all else being equal wouldn't be at all bad..

You need to consider the compression height, and the bore... otherwise you will also be into new custom rods, as the original rods have insufficient meat around the little end to re-bush and offset bore to accommodate getting everything in the right place.

tease :P
Who's going to stump up some dosh then ? Will there be any great call for them ?
Bear in mind that custom pistons will not be cheap ,you will still be in the region of a couple of hundred quid each max but ......they can be tweaked

What a tease,
It that a 60 or 77 A60 piston you have modelled (is there really a difference??)?

I could do with at least one and possibly 7, I was hoping to find something "compatible" if I have to change all 6. 250 euro gets you the barrel and rings too.

Sounds like most people need at least one......that would be 14 then......not a big run....

It will be interesting to see if you still have any audible slap on the engine when you reassemble it- if you have wear on one or two skirts, it seems likely that some noise will be there at idle when cold after reassembly?
