Help with Spider

Hi All

Can anyone shed some light on my Spider problem please? i took the car into the local Renault dealer for an MOT and the brake lights were sticking on as the pedal was not returning all the way up, they sorted this and the MOT. I drove it home to feel and hear a metalic clunking noise from underneath at the front end of the car, thought it must be something to do with the brake linkage, went back, all checked and tested, road tested and source of noise cannot be located after 4 hours ! they think that as the car was jacked on the 4 points underneath, that the weight of the car on the supsension may have affected the shocks , they attatched a listening device to the shocks and took me out for a test drive and there did seem to be a noise from this area, although i reckoned that any noise could travel through the frame/suspension? the shocks are original and the car has only travelled just over 3k , any ideas greatly appreciated as i reluctantly have had to leave the vehicle with them :(

at 3K I cannot imagine any joints or anything worn, maybe get them to check the front anti roll bar is not loose or broken, other than that just make sure everything is tightened to correct torque. The triangular shaped plates the shocks bolt on to can get elogated holes in them but, once again, not at 3K.
My old road spider always clunked on bumps and we could never trace the problem, its just in this type of car you do hear everything mechanical doing its stuff. But if you think its a new noise that was not there before then god knows really!

My red A310 has a funny chassis knock occasionally.
Anyone else driving thinks it's a major problem, but it just means that the bungee holding the spare wheel has lost it's elasticity and bangs against a panel gently but loudly 8)

Thanks for the replies , the dealer called me this morning to tell me they had traced it! , you were correct , it was the OSF anti roll bar link lower joint to be precise , had loosened once jacked up, all tightened and sorted now!, the rear brakes were also binding , all adjusted and sorted now, dealer told me to give them a good try out on the way home, did as i was advised and gave it a good trash on the journey back, better than ever, good to get it back ! :D always loads of mechanical noise going on in a Spider, but you know instantly when things are not right.
