Yes it is a 610 engine i went down to Mr Dells to have a good look over it, the car does need a lot of work full respray, new windsreen, it is misfireing, wheels are curbed, boot lid is warped, will not pass an mot due to emmissions, clutch peddle is very stiff, passenger window will not go up without a push, but could make a good car probably will go back to france which is a shame.

I had a look at it a while back and came to the same conclusion. The owner needs to be more realistic or find a sucker.

I understand he has turned down an offer of £11K but am fairly sure that something closer to £12K will buy it.

But it's a hard one to value. If someone wants one where will they find another?

I guess having to pay storage fees might make him keener to take a sensible offer. There are lots of car storage firms around here, its 25 a week upwards, with starting/movement 35 a week (plus VAT). Its amazing how £2000 a year in storage affects our view of sale urgency.
I seem to remember the interior needs work too.
Its a shame I have always wanted a Venturi, but a non MOT'd car in need of interior and exterior work seems a big liability.
If it was a GTA it's be a £1500 car, a 610 would be 6k in the same state. Double that for a Venturi? If it was MOT'd and running properly maybe.

Non, apres- vous mes amis Francais.

Metters,

Good point about storage. We can blame mr Dell for that. :-) also my view re GTA and 610.

I offered 12K today and still no joy, he is wanting close to the asking price as possible and seeing as a tidy car will only fetch 16-18k only a mad french man will be interested, which i think he hoping for!!! I even got a £60 congestion fine through the doorafter veiwing it as well.

Lee is right i think a 610 in the same condition would be about 6k top's, as it is going to be an engine out job to sort the miss firing and emmision problems.

I think with the Venturi it's engine out to see the plugs, let alone anything more serious, brave of you to offer!
RAOC tried to keep it here!

I think I would rather spend 12 bags of sand on a GTA, IMO it is better looking car apart from the front indicators and head lights my pet hate :? ,but I find that particular Venturi to be a liitle non descript. I was advised that the venturi is a better sorted car to drive, but I dont think many of the Venturi's have got the kind of inter-stella milage on them that maybe the Alpines have on them? I don't know that as a fact but most Venturies I can remember hearing of have limited milage on them by comparison. I reckon a lot of Alpine owners are driving around on 15 - 25 year old suspension.

I think I'd prefer to have spent the money on a lot more power, handling and brakes on a tidy GTA

I don't however find the 400GT bland :P but I do find it so out of my price band

Si21 .......I'ts not all about the Money Money Money ...I drive it coz I like it.

It does have an MOT but there is another 300 atlantique in Mille miles this month for 18k euros. I'm guessing it's also rhd but if it's lhd that put this one 9k. I think he should have taken the 12k as is.

The sparks can be done more easily than on a 610, that's for sure. The misfire is typical and I *think* has more to do with over-advance than anything else. I'd be interested to see one with a 610 ECU on board. Wonky bootlids are par for the course.

Really? 610 plugs are easy, just three bolts to remove the top cover and then it's a normal plug spanner.
Probably better access than a mini.
