Indeed a very tight budget!!! especially with baby No2 on the way... Madame Mogster had other plans :roll: :oops:

One advisory ,slightly pitted brake discs .The new 2500s should clean them up a bit though :twisted:

Yep ,was just a leak in the MAP sensor pipe .
There is an intermittent electrical fault light on now though :roll: :lol: Shake the loom and it comes and goes .Might be connected to the bay fans running when unplugged from the sensors... :lol: :lol:
Disturbing the loom has obviously caused a few extra issues :evil:

Bit of a coincedence, but mine was flickering on and off yesterday.
Did a bit of a search on the Forum and only found an old post that mentioned injectors / ECU / ignition coil can cause the fault light to illuminate. Is this correct or can other parts of the electrical circuits affect it as well - in which case what ?

Yes EFI fault light only so probably an injector wire but we do also have the fans coming on with sensors unplugged so may be connected .
Only one way to find out so I'll talk to Cedric on Saturday and see if he dares to delve :wink:

Finally made it back home :D took me a long time to come down from Clee's though

Left on Saturday around 1pm, drove down with a massive grin on my face for couple of hours until i had to make a forced stop in oxford as the electronic incident warning light came on and suddenly felt like i was running out of petrol although there was still half a tank.... luckily i managed to make it to one of my mates and invited myself for the evening :oops: tried to get started again but nothing... fuel pump priming, engine cranking... played with all connections... no luck until about lunch time today when it suddenly decided to start, took the opportunity to take off and made my way south again, but not for long, 5 miles down on A34 and again same thing happened... got stuck on a lay by trying to play with all the connections, wriggle all the looms but nothing :evil: :evil:
ended up calling RAC, couple hours later the guy turned up, tried to start and it started like nothing happened :evil: :evil: he tested the ignition wires, all fine... he recommended i checked the looms (as Clee told me too) and off i went and made it all the way to Bournemouth by 5pm... not with a big grin anymore might i add...

all this really annoyed me :evil: so i got started removing the heatshrink on all ignition wires and here we go, found it there were 2 wires so old the sleeving had cracked so the bare wires shorted with vibration etc, killing the engine, replaced the 2 wires and it worked like a dream :D
light is now off and even the speedo works again, so i can actually see what speed i'm driving at (not that it really matters :D )

just need to do a proper job now and replace all the other ones too just in case + replace the connectors which look really old and dont really stay in place either...

glad to be home and have her back really

Glad you found the problem Cedric .The injector plugs are all a bit dodgy so I'd put new in and rewire all the way back to the ' clumps ' where they all meet .
Scoff has them in stock .Mention you're a RTOC member for some discount :wink:

Glad to hear you got the problem sorted these are old cars and truxt me they will definately take your patients to the limits I hope you have more than me.

I have been locked out of mine for a week, I have been so pee'd off with it I have left it alone for over a week. Popped over to the parents place and stuck the key in the lock and nothing so I fiddled with the key a little and tried to ensure the key was left in the locked position. Walked around to check the other door and it was open :shock: :P So I climbed through opened the passenger door pulled the panel out and fiddled with the door lock connections ....hey presto the lock operated again the car even started so not more batterey drain now that I have the solar panel keeping the battery topped up.

Mogster there always appears to be something coming up that needs attention and fettling :wink:

Must be mellowing in my old age I have not even lost my temper with it for at least 2 months :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:
