As for the prices of the A610 or GTA in similar condition being a lot less, what was the price of these cars when new? Forgive me but I do not have this information, the Venturi Atlantique 300 was a couple of bob short of £60,000 when new, would this perhaps be a reason for the higher second hand values, assuming they are achieved?

Not sure prices have too much to do with it to be honest. Yes your right in essence that a Venturi will always be more expensive than a GTA or 610. It's all about popularity/coolness and thus supply/demand. Not many people when looking for a 2 door sports coupe think of French car do they....
You look at big Mercs and BM's that were near £100k when new can now be had for £5-10K.
On the flip side Mk 1 and Mk 2 Ford Escorts that were peanuts when new are now commanding £10-20k or even more depending on spec/model.
I do think that Alpines in general are going up in value though, it's a slow process but eventually the French will totally cotton on and be over for the cheap RHD cars which will increase values further.
