More adaptronic mapping done

Postby Tony Smith » Fri Sep 23, 2011 5:48 pm

Made another trip north for some more mapping work and the car is now running better and faster than ever before. Sorted out the poor idle which turned out to be the signal leads to the TPS picking up spurious signals in the loom from an unknown source causing it to chuck fuel in randomly every few seconds. With that sorted and the new 440cc injectors fitted we went and did some mapping. The previous power map was pretty good but only went to 0.8 bar. We mapped to 1.2 bar with no problems and it was still needing extra fuel at the top end so its definitely increased the power. Feels quicker too. Was using over 70% of the duty cycle of the injector which Scoff reckon equated to 330bhp but I don't know how all that stuff works - its definitely got a fair bit more than before and thats what matters  . Big thanks to Lee and Scoff for everything. If you have an Adaptronic you really have to let him map it, can't recommend him highly enough.

Excellent news Tony, that's great! So hopefully you are going to get some
reliable miles on her now :-) Good, so does that mean the car is a "sticker"
now? :-) ... and just in time for the last throws of good weather.. Enjoy chap!
