Yes David, I do that calculation all the time, I supply cams to the Fiat race community, and have my own profiles... I didn't say it wasn't changed, I said it was reasonably close.. certainly nothing to write home about, I have the profile Tony has digitised... Do you?

David is just trying to make the point that you can't have a fair comparison of the effect of the different manifolds if other components have been changed as well.
If the cam profile is different - even slightly - then its not a direct comparison.

I don't get the hate in this thread, it looks to me like everyone is saying the same thing.

That there is £495 from Superchips, give them a call .....Thats who I was able to buy them from and punt them out at £90 quid IIRC with a nice boost controller - In a time before cheap knock offs.

This is the same thing, obv if you wan't to pay over £150, plus a boost controller go ahead...

Unfortunately the same old shit being spouted means apart from Tony, everyone will still be stuck below 300bhp, 3 years on.

I have gone into more detail on this, but the essentials are in the thread:

"ECU - best advice ditch the mod. I can explain how to do this in a pm if need be. I have worked on these extensively, and that mod will mean you never have the correct injector duty cycle for the manifold pressure applied to the engine, and consequently will run lean. There are in fact only 4 real positive pressure load lines (taking you from atmospheric to X psi), and depending on the setting of the board gain setting pot "Superchip fudge" you may not actually hit the last one - bad bad bad

I keep saying it, but nobody listens"

Well I have said it many times, and I will repeat it again, a better result can be achieved with a 4V7 zener from RS for 24p....

Well its not 3 years on, its actually 6 years on. So who has cracked 300bhp with ease, without running loads of boost and having a suffocated torque curve? ;)

Has anyone yet simply got a 2.5, put some tubies on into a correctly specced single turbo, used one of my large chargecooler systems, put an ecu on and run a decent chunk of boost?

Even though that lot would cost the best part of 3k+

Only person claiming more than 300bhp on a 2.5 that I know of is John Violas blue car built by Martin Faulks. Be good to see it on a proper rolling road that mine or Dave Miles's car have been on. I know Martin will probably hate me for this but the rolling road they use is very old and has definitely seen better days. Best way is to run it up a drag strip - if its standard weight and it pulls 105 or more over the 1/4 its got 300bhp :0).
Alpines - GTA 3.0 Turbo, GTA 3.0 Inj (Project DD), GTA 6.2 V8 (500 bhp) , R32 Skyline GTR, BMW Alpina B10 635 Highline, Alpina B10 E39 5 Series, Jaguar 4.2 XKR, Laguna 205GT, BMW 120d.

Don't start that RR dissing bs ......The rollers are not old and are well maintained, you are just plain wrong on that .The unit and the boys that run it are though .Consistency is where it is at ........same setup for about half a dozen cars now and back to back data .Will car was around 280 in lower trim and on another 'proper' setup up north.........
