Possible clutch problem/adjustment on A610

I went to use the car yesterday and noticed it was reluctant to go into gear. Having removed the cover plate to clean the brake switch the other day I did not notice anything unusual so it went back. The clutch is also making a low pitched squeak if such a thing exists when you push it in and there is now a bit of 'slack' at the top travel position. I understand a new clutch was fitted to the car so with it being used a lot now is it just a case of adjusting and if so is there a guide anywhere how to adjust up what I think is slack as I haven't seen a resevoir for clutch fluid anywhere.

It is Hydraulic, so is sort of self adjusting.... It may just need Bleeding... there is a nipple under the car on the gearbox ... My book says that if you get a squeak then lubricate clutch pedal Shaft or this could be worn and you need to replace the shaft bushes?
Still have not found the Reservoir?? but looking.. still new to this car and not got to that problem yet!!

Ok it was what I thought the clutch shares the fluid from the brake reservoir one.. hope this helps

After talking to Mr Dell last night it seems that Renault did a bit of a cockerel up with the fluid as the specify DOT5, which even if you go onto Wikiepedia it states it's not compatible with ABS systems.......

Thanks for the replies, yes I realised it must be hydraulic its showing signs of needing bleeding perhaps as the pedal firms up after about 10 mins. I'll do a check of the lever system to see if a bit of lube is required.

I am sorry to here this has happed, i had this problem with it before and spoke to clee and others on the forum and most people said try new fluid and bleeding first which is what i did and it has been fine ever since even when it has been a really hot day!!! It does not seem to be the master cylinder as you have said their is no leaking at the peddle box. The only other thing is the slave cylinder!! It would be woth trying some dot 4.1 fluid as i replaced it with dot 5 (which is what it should be) and i have been told it has a higher temp threshold. I hope you get it sorted soon bud.

No problem Paul its 'sods law' in most cases with these things, it looks like other people have similar problems as in the case of phildini which is a real pain as far as I can see. I'm going to have a poke around today and check levels etc and if I can't get any further I'll give the guy who does my mechanical work a visit along with the various printouts of posts from here.

The strangest thing has happened went out to move the cars around and decided to check out the Alpine and its fine, how weird is that, went into gear straight away and the pedal is right up at the top without any slack, wish all mechanical gremlins sorted themselves out like that!
