A610 in Jeremy Clarkson's new DVD - OUT TODAY!

Just been reading Jeremy's recent biography. He mentions the 610 in a positive light saying ít's fabulous and everyone should buy one!
Incidentally, I am staying about 100 metres away from him in Corfu. I was watching him and his family yesterday on a pretty fabulous private yacht moored in the bay. He's got one hell of a gut on him these days. Doesn't like to talk to people much either!

Turns out hes actually an ex Renault mechanic from Theale Motor Works in the early 90's.
He was telling me the story about the Blue A610 that Clarkson smashed up. Turns out owner No.1 was the Dealer Principle of Theale Motor works, and then it was sold onto one of Simon's friends who then owned it for 5 years. This person then passed it down to their Son who owned it for a further 2 years until they ran into cash-flow issues, and sold the A610 to Clarksons production team.

Simon was telling me, that he only just serviced that A610 about 2 months before Clarkson trashed it.
I showed him the pictures of my ex GTA, and how the Rear lights, and Intercooler grille from that particular A610 live on !.

Small world eh !.
Simon also mentioned he has a friend over in Bradfield Berkshire who has a Red GTA Turbo in mint condition. The car is a show piece, in storage.
I mentioned the Forum, and he said he would pass the website along with the hope that this GTA owner will sign up.

Twas a shame. Mr Dell has a signed apology from Mr Clarkson himself. I have only been nagging him for 3 years to put it on the website for all to see. Oh well I'll try again, lets see if he computes cryptic nagging...

the car was owned by Gary Mains in Windsor as he bought it to the First WSR in 2005 where it won best in show i think, i know it won an award..... it was advertised for sale but it was high money probably worth it but no one bought it and it then ended up in the hands of Mr clarkson..... the rest is history..... dommage.....

It was advertised in Auto Trader for £10,250. I'd my eye on it for a week or so but didn't phone as I wasn't sure I'd be in England. I phoned when I got over but it had been agreed for sale by then and was to be picked up later in the week. I think it exchanged hands for 2 grand less than advertised.
