only did business with him once.....and it was for a 3rd party not for myself, that was the first and last time, my recommendation.... don't ever do business with him he's a real cowboy

I have spent a lot of money on all of Alpines/Renaults in my current possession as i initially found out with the 21 the cars are cheap to buy but expennsive to maintain; therefore they were never maintained properly so I ended up.virtually mechanically rebuilding the whole thing. This then became the norm for me so.I am.proud to.say that I have saved 3 cars from.the scrappy. They have cost me alot more than their worth, but as Clee says it not all about making a profit I did them for keeps as to buy a mint well maintained car especially a Lemans were out of my financial reach at the time of purchase.

The worse bit is now they have raped my wallet so another car is currently out of the question........probably a good thing

A lot of the pleasure of owning old cars is taking that which is broken, bodged, seized or rusty and making it good again.

The cost of parts and materials usually means you won't recover your costs but it's a hobby. I don't expect my hobbies to bring a return.

I've always run my cars on the basis of doing whatq needs to be done to keep it in top condition. What's the point of a car that doesn't work as it should. Ive never been one to scrap a car because the repair is more than its value, especially cars as special as Alpines.

Yes it means I end up putting money into cars that I'll never see again but others put the same into drink and drugs.

I agree i can spend £70 easily on a nigh out in London Toon n the juice and all you get is a crap feeling and nothing much apart from that to show for it however.......that doesn't stop me every now and again

There are not many of these about so if you want it you have to pay the price.

I remember my brother's mate in the early 80s being called an idiot for spending a similar amount on a Muira in similar condition. He then spent £25K and 2 years restoring it.

ohhhhh no, this is a 1980's standard renault 5 bodyshell modified and made in to a turbo 2. the hours and hours that lead into weeks and weeks and months of work to return this car back to a drivable mint example are unbelievable. all we can see are external photo's of a car in very poor condition and underneath will be corroded cills, floor sections , front panel, chassis legs etc, etc, etc.
as with a lot of classic cars buy them and do them for your self , but this won't be a cheap quick fix.

Mr Andy has had some very close experience working on T2's......

From what I have been told it makes my car look like a minter....... Looks like it has been sitting outside for a long long time............ How can somebody do that to it.
