It guts me, to see them write off a car that looks so good... I fully feel for the owner.

Not meaning to seem like some kind of Vulcher.....
If anyone on here buys it to break and sell in parts.... let us know. I have a huge shopping list.

Christ that sounds so bad of me.... but parts are becoming so difficult to get. No offence meant...

Sad as this was a lovely car. I could do with a passenger side rear light to complete a set if anyone does buy the salvage. The early 610's had a slightly different light cluster (the white of the reverse light is much whiter and the orange is darker on the newer ones) so the replacements aren't any good unless it is a pair. I had mine in bits and they are completely different.

Yes 610's are fluted.

But this GTA (my old one) has the rear lenses from the A610 that Clarkson smashed into the concrete barrier.
They must be lucky lights as they have survived 2 crashes !.

Well I want to totaly replace my rear end from the flat GTA to the A610 style, so any of the lights and the grill will do me. My lights are totaly shot!

Think the inner and outer lens are slightly different to be honest.

Sorry to hear this is written off, this is going to be an ongoing problem as the two principle components (sub-frame and fibreglass tray) are now unavailable. Also no one seems to want to take this kind of job on, not least I'm sure because no-one has a Facom Celette nocking about in their garage.

Close to my old employers HQ in Paris.
3k euro mind....
Looks like you might be able to rent it in the uk, assuming they still have the GTA/610 brackets in their 800 varieties...

Dead GTA

Postby Mark Corby » Fri Mar 02, 2012 9:39 am

Hi All

Sorry for the long absence - personal stuff and a load of travel.

No, in the end I couldn't support getting the salvage and doing the repair (the salvage wasn't a great deal anyway) - personal news stuffed that up.....

Gutted really but - well - it had to be that way I'm afraid.

If anyone does buy it then a few bits....
- A low speed impact but the O/S wheel mount or chassis member has been pushed back a couple of cm.
- At least the brand new radiator survived - after the smash I could drive it back without leaking fluids everywhere so the core mechanicals have survived...
- Nose Cone, Wings, Headlamp covers and lower front valance all totaled. Smaller parts in those areas ditto (one headlamp hood at least, some plastic trim).
Everything else past the doors seems fine and it WAS a bloody good one. If someone has the time and inclination then it would definitely be worth it. Big MVS had the parts a month or so ago....

Again, I'm really gutted by it - circumstances unfortunately intervened. My apologies to all of you who have been wondering what was happening...

I'm going to leave it a year for now and will then see what's about sometime in 2013! Whatever I get I will give Gold Rover 75's a wide berth!
