Gearbox

Postby Will » Sun Mar 18, 2012 5:26 pm

A few of you guys will know i've been messing around with my gearbox over the last few months, ratios, diffs etc, anyway finally picked it up last week so here are a few photos!

The box has been completely rebuilt by Chris Cole, Chris is famous in the GT40 world and has a fantastic GT40 Mk 3 replica, link to an article below:

http://www.gt40enthusiastsclub.com/imag ... omNo89.pdf

he's been building box's for a long time, the contents of mine are top secret   but the point is whatever ratios you want, he's probably got them plus quaife LSD, straight cut gears etc etc

He is a real gentlemen and a complete rebuild starts at £350 so very reasonable.

pm me if you want to know more or would like his contact details but i could not recommend him more.

Wow 8) Never seen a clean one before

£350 does seem very reasonable, what do you get for that - 2nd Gear Synchro I guess and a strip down?

Looks mighty good there sir, think I'll take my TDC box there, save all the hassle and time of doing it myself.

You should link this to your project thread Will.

What ratios?

Postby Tony Smith » Tue Apr 03, 2012 4:54 pm

I'm stripping my V6 Espace at the weekend and I can't find the diff ratio on the web anywhere. Anyone know what the final drive ratio is? 90-91 Espace 2.9i. It feels a good bit lower than a GTA so might be a good one to use in a sprint car.
