Hi all
just to keep you updated, the new clutch was fitted few weekends back by Clee. (I helped a bit but mainly got in the way...
)
i learned a lot on that weekend, mainly that there is no such thing as a direct replacement
we ended up having to change the crankshaft seal that fell off as we removed the gearbox and the flywheel which was polished
with all the oil everywhere and the lack of grip on the flywheel, combined by a totally worn clutch, no wonder it was slipping...
thank you Clee for all the technical enlightment and the fantastic hospitality on that weekend...
i went for a nice drive down the Dorset country lanes with Paul Goldsmith last weekend and up and down Gurston Down Hillclimb yesterday and i must say that so far i am very pleased with the new clutch...
