I admit to not knowing the true facts behind this stunt which I can only assume was done for publicity, along with the super injunction and the recent series of Top Gear my feelings towards Mr Clarkson have gone from one of tolerating him to one now where he truly outshines Boris in bafoon ranking. I read somewhere that the steering lock problem was due to the car being set up for the remote controlled crash, if so I guess again like the truth behind the recent Wheeler Dealers slight of hand just highlights what crap we are prepared to consume. So does anyone have the facts behind the crash?

It was just a stunt for one of his vids .....if they could have bought a Venturi cheaper then that would have been crashed .....
