Okay guys, just so you all know these are nice cars; they go very well both in the grunt and around the corner departments. They are very comfortable to travel long distances in and have a fair bit of luggage space with a front boot and a rear boot. The 200’s rear boot is a little bit bigger than my 260’s as the 200’s floor is flat and mine has a step in it to allow for the catalytic convertor. The gear change however is not as good as a GTA’s and the overall dimensions make it a slightly smaller car. I will leave looks out of the equation as this is always a subjective and emotive issue.

Got to be worth a punt up to a point that point depends as you say Clee on the motive, the last 200 sold made just shy of £10,000 and it was a very tidy car. So I wonder what price would be the cut off point for a profit maker. To this end should we call our new best friends Mike & Edd?

The price for a personal labour of love restoration could be a bit higher I guess, but its current condition seems better than the A310 that El Presidente recently acquired. Anybody seen him lately by the way or is he temporarily indisposed touring Lancashire?

Never seen one of these before, definetely looks interesting.

Are they GTA based then (excuse my ignorance!), I can't see what cost would be involved in restoringthough, the car looks complete, on resto's of this type its buying parts that cost money. If like my GTA it just needs work and basic materials and your prepared to get your hands dirty then the costs shouldn't spiral!

Be interesting to see what it fetches. :D
Previously Had a Renault GTA V6 Turbo, White on the D-Plate.

Don't worry, there is no danger of me putting a bid in even though it is just up the road from me. I'm not sure why but this model never did it for me.

I'm more interested in getting another MOT on my A610 - hasn't that come around quickly.

I've also got another car over in Vancouver that I'm trying to get back home so the last thing I need right now is another piece of French plastic to clutter up the cow shed. Good luck to anyone who gets it though. It's still looking very cheap.

I had a chat with the fella that has been to see the car and he was very helpful. He said he walked in and more or less walked out again without looking under the engine cover or in the boot, such was the state of the bodywork and interior. The pictures are quite flattering apparently. Been standing for years and outside it seems. Doesn't run, brakes probably seized, no idea about the gearbox and electrics will have suffered bady being outside.

Trevor.

Ditto!

I have just come off the phone from speaking with a distraught French Restaurateur in Edinburgh called Philippe, he did not know this car had been on eBay and he says he would have had it at this price to restore as he wants to buy another. He used to own my 260, a bright yellow 260LM and an Atlantique 300, all were sold off to either fund another Venturi, my 260 to buy the 260LM, or to help get funds for his restaurant, 260LM & 300, and now he says he has been to long without one.

I was a bit surprised as I thought he would have been a prime candidate to buy it!
