Postby blueg33 » Sat Jun 23, 2012 10:22 am

Has anyone got some Azev or BBS type wheels for sale that will fit a GTA?

Cheers

Try France

Postby Tony Smith » Sat Jun 23, 2012 12:09 pm

Very hard to come buy in this country now. I'd try E-Bay France or one of the French Alpine mags like Mille Miles, they usually have some for sale

Or speak to Andy Holt about custom TeamDynamics wheels .He can get them as specials for sensible money , ie correct offsets and stud pattern .

Cheers Lee. TBH wheels are not top of my list. Need to order coolant pipes first :)

Ahh yes , best be safe than sorry .....I'm just trying to sort the ones on Tony's atm ....There is/was no evidence of a leak on yours but seeing as the lump is out and all that is going into it really makes sense to put in new .

They all seem to go where they poke out near the fuel tank .This is where they are clamped and rest against the tunnel floor .Bit of 25 year old foam there that catches all the moisture and rots ....Also seems to be the LHS one that suffers .This has the heater matrix pipe right above it and is pulled down very tight .
Here's one I did a few months ago ,luckily they tend to go right at the end of the tunnel .Clamp is about 5" further back .Can't see the holes until they spring but hopefully I can do the same on Mr Smiths .

If you look on ebay under BBS RS wheels you will see a set of 17" Azev wheels that will fit a GTA. 7.5 x 17 front and 10 x 17 rear. If you want proper BBS's RS as fitted to GTA's the number to look for is RS 096 for the front. These are 7 x 15 and the rears are RS097 and these are 8.5 x 15. Hope this helps.
You may be interested to know that GTA wheels are 4 x 100 centres the same as a VW golf. So the BBS wheels off a golf will fit although I've yet to see a golf with 8.5" wheels!

Looked at the wheels on ebay, they have been drilled to get the 4x100 and one has cracked where it has been drilled.

ET 20 all round is no good either. Spot on for the rears but they would stick out too much on the front and look shite.
