looks like you need to buy a spider,

none of the above problems and a pretty good spares network available to keep it running

To qualify what I said, yes long past the logical choice. I have a logical choice in an E46 M3 with 340bhp that's built by Germans.

However, since when has logic come into these things? I've had the GTA over 15yrs and drove over 120000 miles in it. I'm still not bored of it hence all the work it's currently undergoing. Somehow they get under your skin for some of us! Ask Tony, Steve and others. If you've got the willpower then they're great and always will be. We're just hooked.

Dunno about the rest of you guys, but my car turned 24 on the 13th of this month, & while it's had it's share of mechanical issues,I don't think I could ever sell it. It has become 'my other lady' (according to the wife!), and regardless of the price I don't think there's ever been a price where I've said 'I can't afford this!', but 'I can't afford this right now' has been a regular phrase. I've still got some stuff I really want 2 do but , I'm still enjoying owning and driving a rare (if not as fast as I'd previously expected) supercar from the 80's. I absolutely love my car & love being asked about it. I love that people don't know what it is, and think it's something random. I just love it! I don't know how else to put it. It's only 200 HP, and I'm sure probably less, but it doesn't feel like it, and it handles like very little else I've ever driven. They are awesome & the price shouldn't come into it. Get a taste & they're like heroin. No getting away from them! I'd love to see the day they're worth as much as an A110, but I don't care if it ever comes.
One of the things that really attracts me to them is that you're not exactly going to crash into another one in all probability (except on club meets!).

Just buy it, restore it, & love it like most of the rest of the lunatics on this forum. Heart over head everytime!

Despite it being a trying relationship at times, when they are on song nothing beats them to drive on your favourite twisty road. I'm a serial modifier so I never leave anything standard, but a few choice mods can make them much nicer to own and far more competitive with modern machinary (the thought of getting blown away by a hot hatch is depressing!). I've had lots and lots of cars over the years, Rice burners, Alpinas, AMG's all manor of hot hatches, saloons and estates but I've kept my GTA 22 years and can honestly say I'd rather own it than any other car I've ever driven.

And Spiders are great cars too but a roofless car in England for me would just not get used enough.

wash your mouth out....

actually we were thinking about one as a replacement for wifes Peugeot.....but they stopped making them until recently......

and we stil have a Volvo 940 Estate with 183k miles on it

but thats enough about my troubles

still think there's a better GTA out there foe less than it'll cost me to put this one right. At the minute. It isn't going anywhere fast so I have a ittle time to think about it.

Skyedriver, there was a decent GTA on ebay last week, didn't sell but I know what the guy will sell for. I drove it, its a nice car with some mild turbo mods, very good interior etc
