Postby clee » Fri Jun 29, 2012 11:53 am

I light of recent findings would anyone be interested in a group buy from SimonAuto ?
These have just arrived and subject to fitting look bob-on

Cost is 140 euro each at present + about 70 shipping .I could have a word with Andreas and see if there is any discount to be had if we order in bulk .Think would save a bit on the shipping that way if nothing else .
I'm willing to store them here for a little while for collection .
Can we have a show of hands please 8)

 Bloody quick service as usual .

One piece 8)
I was going to take the old ones with me to see the exhaust dudes when I drop Tony's car off for zorstwork but honestly I can't see them getting anywhere near that price and Andreas has already done all the hard work so perhaps deserves UK support .

Of course it would make sense to have them fitted as well if you were to want a set and I'm sure I can do a bargain Winter special fitment service  8)

I know ...I've got shed loads to get through next month to see a big push on with it in August .
Darren's car is being tetchy so need to get to the bottom of that this weekend ...
Think apart from turbo refurb your list is complete for bolting together .Weld being done in the next couple of weeks .

Small holes in turret base rears and lhs front + local area on sill behind rhs jacking point .

Back to pipes though .

I can swap them out for about 550 + parts given I do just that ....we all know once it's out there will be other stuff but that is given I do just that .Drop out rear assembly and fuel tank to remove pipes and install new .
You might also want to replace the heater matrix pipe but that is a far simpler shape so shouldn't cost the earth to replicate .

One a week over the bitter Winter to keep the cold away 8)

I'd be interested in that group buy, Lee.

I'm hoping, though, that mine don't really need replacing yet... :?

When I bought my GTA, I took it to a garage in Weymouth who helped me out with recon rear brake calipers. At the time they put the car on ramps and they looked at the underside (I guess out of curiosity) and mentioned that the coolant pipes had been changed as they were a different colour.

I'm not aware from previous receipts etc. that the pipes had been changed. Hence did Renault change the material used for the pipes to try to improve defence against corrosion??
I believe mine are light blue.

Only difference I've seen is one of later pipes have a small bore pipe attached .This is for fueltank breather and takes it right to the rear and then a rubber pipe ..
Anyway ,back to business .Anyone seriously interested in this ? I mean serious enough to pay

Fits ,bar one tiny point but of no consequence 8)
