RATS has new premises

Postby clee » Mon Jul 30, 2012 6:36 pm

In addition to home I've just got the keys to a new small workspace 8)
Far less space than I have at home but for many reasons it will make a lot of sense to have this place as well .
MOT guys are diagonally opposite ,Mark the welder two doors away and a vast array of other useful outfits all on the same compound .
Two poster on the way ( big thanks to Andypaint for that ) but I've moved a couple of cars there already .
Tony's there ready for MOT in the morning and another longer term project .
That's about all I can fit in there and be comfortable to work around but it will free up other space here at home and it'll be a case of horses for courses which is here or there .
I'll post up more details and pics as and when I get stuff sorted but as from today I'm in

Looks good Lee

(FYI the workshop manual for the GTA says "do not use 2 post lifts as the vehicle weight distribution makes them unsuitable"

I think that must be advice for people who do not understand the concept of Centre of Gravity

Not as bad as a rotten T2
You just have to watch what you do at the rear end and strap it up front if any real force is to be applied .

Yep ......It's only 2 mins round the corner though so not too bad but still feck asp bullocks when you forget ..Main issue is where to leave the BIG stuff ,compressor ,engine crane .1 because they are not transportable 2 they cost a lot to duplicate .
It'll work itself out I'm sure

Looks good, nice and light, well done, should drop the stress level!

I think I would try and split it into clean and dirty facilities; could then put the compressor in the unit, as I guess you will do the majority of your main dirty work there, do your clean stuff back at the garage?

One thing worth asking for is if you can have a copy of the EIC or PIR electrical inspection reports for your own knowledge and safety, especially for insurance purposes if you haven't been given it already.

Now you can start getting yourself some 3 phase toys!
... A diamond is only a piece of coal that did well under pressure... PRV afflicted, may be I need to squeeze harder!!!!
