Right-so ,that's all tested for MOT .Pedal box looks a bit crusty but got all the shite out and it works OK now .Good job as those bolts look like they'll snap if I try and get it out .
MOT ,get it gone for paint .

Anyway ,lets just adjust the handbrake as it's got zero movement on the offside ............Feckin bollocking shite !!

Postby Tony Smith » Sun Aug 05, 2012 11:46 am

Good news is its passed MOT - bad news is the water pipes need to come back out! Going to have to go for paint first.

Shes up and running

Postby Tony Smith » Sat Aug 11, 2012 1:15 pm

Collected the car from Lee's yesterday and drove it up to Andy to be painted. Drove really well and the conversion suits the GTA a treat, really smooth with a nice wide power band. I would say performance is on par with something like my old Clio 182 at the top end but pulls better low down.

Lees' done a great job of getting the injection lump in and running with a turbo fuel system and has carried out some truly horrible looking jobs (very rusty pedal box and handbrake change outs immediately spring to mind) and has just got on and done what was needed without a moments whinging. He has also spent alot of time chasing information on wiring and fueling for the conversion which I'm sure he hasn't charged me for. Thanks too to Big MVS and Andy Fieldmouse who came up with some very reasonably priced 2nd hand parts that were required. :D

Once it has some fresh paint on it and my leather interior in it it'll be a really nice car, drives very well on the GAZ set up too - better than I remember my turbo driving with it on - no idea why that is!?
