Atmo hose bracket

Postby chris » Fri Aug 10, 2012 12:37 pm

Could not find where this bracket belongs , I know it supports the hoses but the parts book does not show exactly where. It could be because I have alloy rocker covers .
I guess if someone can post a pic it will be most helpful.

Thanks Clee but I think my bracket is different to yours . Mine was on an Atmo engine and yours is on a Turbo .The brackets appear to be different from the Photo's. I really need a pic of it on an Atmo engine.

Ahh yes , just noticed that .Different bracket .

Still ,it fits in the same place ish but uses the exhaust hanger bolt .Here's a pic .I had to modify an Atmo bracket to accept new pipes from SimonAuto .He supplies OE style ones but the pipe is Turbo shaped for both so shaped to miss Turbo dizzy .

As Lee says, attached to the upper exhaust bracket...... here is a pic of it fitted to an Atmo with OE hoses...... also noticed mine needs a bit of paint.

Chris, looks like you've got some very neat and compact throttle bodies there, nice install :-) you really should post up some more pictures, don't be shy :-)

I had some photo's in the visitors section but they are a bit out dated now . New wheels and brakes and as you can see the carbon fibre 90 deg ram tubes are gone and some straighter longer ram tubes are in progress. My aim is for greater air speed to the valve . I have made three different length trumpets that fit to the runners that will prove the best length when on the dyno . Socks are temporary till two cold plenums are made but they will be difficult to make.

My Alpine forever in progress!

Good idea, let's know how you get on.

I can't remember what your specs are now. Heads are worked on aren't they, did you get any flow results? What valve sizes do you have and port mods? This is the 3ltr heads isn't it? If you want, I'd be happy to mock up your setup on my rig and try different parameters for you and get some flow results to compare. If you let me know ID of your tubes and TBs, tube length etc, I'll mock it up and see if we can get some useful data. You may well have this already I don't know, anyway open offer. I guess you are looking for mid-range torque? Do you have a dyno plot for your original setup? Are you on aftermarket ecu too, so easy control of the map parameters?
