Time to move my A610 along

Postby B1 RMA » Mon Aug 27, 2012 1:21 pm

Due to getting a new very lucrative contract for my company I have decided to sell the car, my head has been turned by another Porsche I tried the other day, and it's not the fire breathing Turbo S I tried recently but a RS60 Boxster can't explain it but it is a wonderful little car. The wife has said there is no way I'm having a third car as I never use the two I already have so I think she has a point. It's on Pistonheads and and I may consider a slightly lower offer from someone on here but as I don't need the money to sell the A610 to buy the Porsche I'm prepared to wait.

It's got to be worth close to that David, just depends what buyers are out there at any given time. You could always try not taking any notice of the wife and keep it - it works for many of us in the club

If it wasn't yellow I'd think long and hard about buying it myself but I'd never be happy with the colour unfortunately for me :( . Good luck with the sale - be nice to see you at LeMan classic next time even if you haven't got an Alp - sure we can make an exception

Thanks for the comments, It seems to have attracted a few members of the trade, one said he had been in contact with you just before I bought it from you Paul, strange conversation too because he didn't seem to want to pay what I was asking for it so I couldn't see any point in continuing the conversation but being the gentleman that I am I refrained from telling him to f off.

If this "new contract" is so lucrative, keep it.
Your good wife should be very understanding that you do not spend every night down the pub or your good money on another woman.
Cars are a safe bet, stick with it and keep smiling at her.

I know what you mean and the car is half the price of the Turbo S I tried recently. It is more a matter of use, despite only working 2-3 days a week I genuinely do not have the time to drive and enjoy the cars I have, and I don't want to get to the situation where in the past the only miles a couple of my cars did per annum was taking them to the MOT station it's a waste. The sort of cars we as enthusiasts like need to be driven and regularly used otherwise it's a complete waste. I can see the logic in what my wife says (is that an oxymoron Wife Logic?) either way I'm changing a habit of a lifetime and just buying what I can get good use of rather than a collection of cars siting idle when they should be out burning holes in the ozone.

It's becoming obvious now that more than one dealer is interested in the car because yesterday I had three calls from people who said they were in the trade two making silly offers and one who I think called again today with a more resonable offer £1000 less than I have advertised it.
