‘RENAULT CLASSIC’ LAUNCHES ITS OWN WEBSITE!
A brand new website (http://www.renaultclassic.com) devoted to Renault Classic will go online on Wednesday, October 3.
In addition to addressing the needs of all those who have an interest in classic Renault vehicles, the new site’s mission is to strengthen Renault’s ties with Renault- and Alpine-based clubs and enthusiasts.
The new website will be a valuable source of information about Renault Classic, plus all the latest news and details of upcoming events.
It will also permit clubs to promote their own activities, news and calendars.
There are several hundred Renault clubs worldwide, so putting them all in contact with each other and catering for their needs were two major objectives during the design of the Renault Classic website (http://www.renaultclassic.com) which is due to go live on Wednesday, October 3. This exciting new tool will provide clubs, collectors and Renault and Alpine enthusiasts with a chance to communicate together and also allow them to access a realm of useful information, not only about Renault Classic but also about the Renault and Alpine fans community.
Contents will also feature a presentation of Renault Classic, including a calendar of the events in which it plans to take part, plus an introduction to Renault’s own collection of vehicles.
Meanwhile, clubs will be able to register and publish their own news, dates and pictures.
Another section of the website will be given over to the availability of downloadable documents, such as authenticity document requests or entry forms to take part in special events.
The site will also have its own Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/renaultclassic) and will permit access to Renault Classic’s YouTube channel.
RENAULT CLASSIC IN BRIEF…
Renault’s collection features more than 740 vehicles, as well as several thousand linear metres of archives including documents and event information, plus more than 3,200 miniature-scale models and toys, 1,900 posters, miscellaneous items and some 270 one-fifth scale mock-ups.
This living collection is kept, maintained and managed by Renault Classic which frequently releases vehicles for exhibitions, motor shows, historic motorsport events, magazine and TV features, as well as for other highlights of the European classic car calendar, such as the World Series by Renault, Le Mans Classic, the Goodwood Festival of Speed, etc. More than five million people were given a chance to admire vehicles from the Renault Collection from close quarters at the 200 operations organised by Renault Classic in 2011.
Renault Classic also enjoys ongoing associations with:
Clubs and collectors, by organising or taking part in historic vehicle events (e.g., the Rétromobile and Epoqu’Auto shows, the Autobrocante de Lohéac ‘boot sale’, etc.), as well as through support for club events, admission to selected events at special rates (Le Mans Classic) and regular communication about the events it attends itself.
The Renault sales network, by making vehicles from the collection available for special nationwide dealership operations, new product launches and events partnered by the sales network.
The media, historians and writers, through the availability of documentation, etc., for specific research, as well as the availability of vehicles for photo shoots or filming purposes, and even the organisation of events where guests get a chance to (re)discover certain models.
Some interesting figures:
- More than 200 special operations organised every year.
- More than 500 vehicles displayed at different events each year.
- More than 5,000,000 people get a chance to admire Renault Classic vehicles every year.
- More than 2,550 registered collectors and 305 clubs.
