GTA Clutch Bleed nipple

Postby The Saint » Mon Nov 12, 2012 12:58 pm

OK I know this must have happened to someone else..
Yes the clutch bleed nipple, the part on the bracket attached the gearbox, has been over tightened and stripped when opening...
Has anyone got an old one around?? I took it to a local engineering shop, and the guy said he could not guarantee that he could sort it as the internal angles etc could not seat to a larger nipple.... ( I think he just did not want the hassel )
So if anyone has a spare knocking about???? If not it means I will try "PastParts" to see if they can sort it... as they did the cylinder...

I have made up a blank stopper for now, that seems to be working, but I would prefer to sort it.

Thanks..

Might be worth having a word with Clee as I gave him a couple of slaves/bleed nipples so may have one spare...

Mine sheared off when I went to do bleed mine this year! I tried to get a new mount from Simon Autos but there was a wait for them as they did not have any in stock.

So I got a frind who is a mechanic to drill mine out / retapp the thread and put in a larger nipple. Hopefully that one wont shear off! Ill take a pic and post up if I get a chance

Cheers

Yea, I thought that would be the way to go, but the guy I asked about doing that, I think did not want the hassle. I may just do it myself...
