Any northern A310s?

Postby benjj » Fri Nov 23, 2012 5:32 pm

Hello all,

I'm a member of the forum but not, yet, an Alpiner true and proper.

With a bit of luck that's about to change.

I rally a Citroen DS in historic events in the UK and Europe but have decided that I need something a bit more purposeful to get on the podium more often.

I've set my sights on an A310, Ideally a 71 or 72 but could work with a 73 or 74 (all to do with MSA regulations etc.)

So, first question:

I'm massive! 6'3'' and broad, fat (and hairy). My big Aussie navigator is 6'5'' but skinny as a rake. Obviously things like seat runners etc can be modified but I'd really like to have a sit in one before I fully commit and start searching for a car.

I'm in North Yorkshire, not far from Leeds - I don't suppose there is anyone local who would be willing to let me have a sit in the driver seat would there!?

Cheers chaps,

Ben
Restored a 1973 Citroen DS21 for long distance European road rallying, now looking to do same in an A110 or A310

Jim Valentine is very tall 6'4 or 6'5 I think and he fits in his A310 with Tillett seats right on the floor. In fact the seats are so far back that John couldn't get his feet near the pedals without cushions behind him.

Headroom might be more of a problem than longitudinal position of the seats unless you changed the seats.
I have an A310V6 that I'm currently restoring. The driver's seat is out at the moment to make it easier to work inside but I could put it back for you to try.
I live in Cheshire, south-east of Manchester so not that far away.
