Making a GTA legal for Switzerland

Looks like my job is moving to Geneva.......they have very strict laws on emissions requiring a 3 way cat apparently. Does anyone know what needs to be done and how much it will cost? Maybe it would be better selling my GTA and looking for a left hand drive one in Switzerland?

Any help greatly appreciated!

I think you'd be better off getting one there .I've got the spec for Swiss anti pollution systems and its more than just fitting a cat ,7 PAGES :!: ,Ignition System ect, I'll scan and email if you want .

Thought that might be the case. If you could email me the scans that would be great, ([email protected]), might start looking for swiss cars, not going to find it easy to sell mine though....... :cry:

You need a cat obviously, but your ecu won't be able to work with this, so yes, find a car already suitable. :(

Check the location as there are German, Austrian and Swiss on here.
Also most of the swiss ones haven't had any EEC tax paid so you'd have to add that if you want to bring it back to the EEC ever.

How long are you going for? Wouldn't it be easier to keep your car registered in England - at a relative's house say, and just take it to Switzerland. The rules won't apply to foreign registered cars, and you'll surely be back once a year so you can renew the MOT then...

Insurance would be a nightmare (I had the same problem for 10 Months in Munich).
