Wheel Nut Thread

Postby blueg33 » Sun Jan 13, 2013 7:47 pm

I need some new shiny wheel nuts and of course a bolt for each wheel, does anyone know what thread I need?

Thanks

Have a look in the 'Wheels and Tyres' section under 'Tuning and Styling' (I know, not the most obvious routing!) - should tell you everything you need to know.

As far as my knowledge goes though, the GTA has 3 bolts and one nut per wheel ( you imply that yours has the reverse). The bolts and nut are M12, 1.25 pitch. You used to be able to get sets of bolts from Renault (triple chrome), but they probably aren't cheap now! The original nuts have been unavailable from Renault for some time, but just get a set of McGard locking nuts (about a fiver/tenner if you can find some at your nearest autojumble). Full price for a set is an extortionate £35 or so.

If you want the part numbers for the bolt sets, let me know and I will see if I can dig out mine - they are stashed away somewhere, just not sure exactly where! Hope this helps, if anything I have said is factually incorrect there are plenty of 'experts' out there who no doubt will correct me!!

Paul

Thanks, for some reason I didn't think to look there - doh

I do have 3 bolts and 1 nut per wheel, I just had momentary dementia :)

I need nuts/bolts for the bargain azev's i bought and the standard ones don't seem to seat properly in the hole on the azev's. I will get locking ones too.

Thanks again

Sorry Lee, I replied to the first post before yours showed up :)

I got some bargain Azev A's, correct PCD and offset but centre bore was wrong. I had the bore increased to the correct 60.1.

I thought the seat looked wrong. If its a 30degree seat I assume that means a nut/bolt with a 60 degree taper?

The wheels I got are 16 inch with polished rim, unfortunately the centre caps don't match so if anyone has 2 of the flat style Azev A caps for sale then I will buy. The price of the wheels was too good to ignore so I am pleased, cost less than having the existing wheels refurbed.
