It looks as thought I'll be driving the GTA there.....my Omega needs a new radiator and it cant be got til next week, so I may not be giving my usual impression of a Kamikaze pilot in an attempt to go faster. Nothing like needing to get home in your race car to slow you down!!!!

Ive got AA cover....but the latest is that I'm not going anyway  The guy who runs Wigton Motorclub has been mentioning this event as being on Saturday....I rung the organiser of Forrestburn to query my class and said 'Hi my names Peter Garforth, I'm racing at Forrestburn on Saturday' she replied (imagine a nice middle aged lady with a soft Scottish accent!!) 'oh no dear, its on Sunday' me........'D'OH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!'
I cant get Sunday off work! Can you believe it??? Oh well, more time for David to get the bits and bobs done that hes working on....bit of pressure now mind, as I need to attend all of the rest of the events and beat my rival to get a full score....if I dont I will lose the championship.

Complete u-turn now.....Ive bribed my way into getting Sunday off so its all back on and I may well be allowed into a more realistic class for my car too......mostly 911s and a TR8......much more sensible! :D

Well, it didnt rain!!! But it was very windy. Alpiniste (Peter) and Mitchella turned up to watch...thanks guys! I came 4th out of 7 so not my finest day but then the playing field wasnt level! The Scottish championship allows tham to run list 1b tyres.....or sticky tyres as theyre known. The course was extremely technical...all corners and no straights so it was always going to be an uphill struggle (no pun intended!). There was a fairly well sorted 911 double entered that came 1st and 2nd and they were 3 seconds up on me on a 50+ second course so I wouldnt want to claim their tyres won them it....but they have been going twice a year for donkeys years and hold the record in 2 classes so no shame there. I was pipped to 3rd place by a Ginetta with sticky tyres by 1/2 a second...so I would have come 3rd with the right tyres. Ironically Peter had a set of wheels with sticky tyres at home that would have swung it......but neither of us knew what the score was so it wasnt to be. Only 1 other Wigton runner from my championship class turned up and I was nearly 10 seconds ahead of him. He went home with a broken clutch......which incidentally I also now have (must have caught it off him!!!). My car now revs far faster than it accelerates......time for a new clutch. D'oh!
Still had an excellent day out....lots of compliments about the car. Nice pair of 8 Gordinis were there too.

here we go http://www.bad-boy.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk ... 0small.wmv

Apologies in advance for the "camera shake" but the wind was strong :)

If anyone has decent hosting space, then the hi-res version is 50Mb, drop me a pm and I can upload it.

Nice meeting up with more interested Alpinistes and their friends/family.

How's the ears Peter, I'd have thought they'd have been bleeding by the time you drove home !!!!

The Gordini video will come later when I've got some time :(

Just watched the clip.

Great pictures again! Looking and sounding superb! That's a very tight and twisty looking course Peter, so still an impressive result I think. Especially considering the tyre situation!

Even better than Knockhill! Top effort Peter....thanks very much. Definintely owe you a good few drinks now :D
Ears are fine...took it very easy on the way home due to the slipping clutch......I had an inkling it was going and suspect my fairly radical tyre warming before the last run finished it off.
