I snapped the old trim removing it for spray but lost a piece ...70% of it is there and refitted but it's missing the vertical run down the rhs .

I now have working remote locking

(If anyone needs a remote locking receiver and matching key fobs I know a guy in the UK who has one with 2 matching fobs, he may also have one with a single matching fob)

Jobs left to do (in no particular order)

Windscreen surround
Replace rad
sort out passenger door release
fix fuel gauge (how the heck do I do that?)
sort wheels (current ones are very scruffy)
repair slight tear in the drivers seat
replace carpets
geo
sort idle speed (its too high)
connect water cooling to turbo
make wipers overlap
try and sort out strange door mirrors that adjust themselves when I am away from the car
find a way of attaching the hand brake gaitor so it stays put!

I need to know the screw size for the windscreen scuttle before I order them. I will use black ones to match the original

I have some screws left I can send one to you if you want. From what I remember they were different sizes in length.

When I get home, I will take the details & Pic of what I used in the past to fix the problem.

Waxoyl!

One side bumper support brace was waxoyled and one side not.

Waxoyl has done its job. Following 20 mins with a rag and white spirits, waxoyl removed and the brace is like new. The other side covered in surface rust, now all sanded off ready for a coat of hammerite and fresh waxoyl on top.

I am pleased that the waxoyl has worked, but its a b***h to remove

All bolts for the bumper being replaced with stainless. That way I will have no need to remove them. If I replace with steel, something will happen meaning that I will have to remove the bolts but not before they have corroded into one solid lump

Mine were from Probolt via Amazon. They are aluminium, I couldn’t find black steel ones anywhere.

They sent a catalogue, which said on the cover "Prepare to want". I thought "how daft, its a bolt catalogue"

I was wrong - I now want - they do lovely bolts. I may even become a bolt collector

I bought some small cap head screws from these people for the A310 dashboard fixing screws. They also do countersink head screws.

I have cable ties too The stainless will be a continuing project over time. Probolt have some really nice titanium bolts..........

They also have the sexiest looking washers I have ever seen

What you need is a run around the block, very good for you apparently.

Andy send me a scuttle panel screw, I matched it for length as well as thread size. But in placing it in the relevant hole, it doesn’t meet anything to screw into. What do these normally screw into, it can't be thin air?
