PRV engine junk clear out

Postby MFaulks » Fri Apr 12, 2013 10:35 am

.
Right I'm going to be clearing out, not keeping tons of spares, but it will be OE stuff I don't want, unknown age, and quality you can verify for yourself.

I don't want any fuss, so if you are looking for spare valves, valve springs (note these are around 14-15 quid plus a pop), rocker arms (steel), pistons, con-rods, and other such stuff drop me a line. I even have a block in the scrap, so if you want to rescue that hurry up before it gets melted... No 2.5ltr cranks sorry, what I have I'm keeping, and what I had that was B-grade in my book has gone. I do have some 3ltr cranks, but you will have to find something I want to relieve me :)

I will be junking them otherwise, so it's collection only (or get someone to collect for you), I'm not going to waste time packaging it up

I will probably package up some 2.5ltr inlet plenums and TBs etc for EFI conversion, and possibly put that together with an ecu, coil pack etc. So if that's of interest let me know.

Likewise an up-rate package of a matched set of a mapped Renix ecu, up-rated cams, and turbo package for 280hp as I have the parts to do one more of these, and then that's it -period. Time to move on chaps...

Cheers,
Martin

Clee was after manifolds faulksie?

Also what I get asked for on a sort of regular basis which might be worth keeping/slinging on ebay:

Dipstick Tubes
Sumps
Alternators
Starter Motors
Engine Looms
Sensors

Did you find any oil cooler pipes in the pile?

A very kind club member of french origins sent me a pair but they are different to the 610. Looks like there were early gta ones which are different to late gta (a/c) and 610 ones...

I was ...you said you had them ? Faulks has not .

Dipstick tubes ...I have remade them
Sump ,yes
Alt ..pay the new price or regret
Starter ..dito
Loom engine ? All old ones will be as bad as any other
Sensors ...dito

Oil cooler pipes ...bite the bullet .I have a set from a GTA and two sets from 610 ...all are in poor condition but don't leak afaik
You need to redo the system with new stuff/oil cooler setup or bin it .
It's not complicated ,it just needs some dosh throwing at it .
I have a remote oil cooler set-up that I put on JIL years ago .All bits off the shelf .It just needs a bit of thought and a few sheckels my-boy

I know already!

Just saying Faulksie could make a few bob with the above

I know what needs to be done on the pipe front, so I just need a pair to copy that's all. If you have some to hand from a 610 that I can borrow then I will give you a sloppy kiss

Getting the old ones off mine is the next mission, time is what I don't have at the moment.

Hi Martin,

Thanks for the list and good thoughts..

Manifolds, no can do, everything I have left is cracked on the flange, so the only thing I will use them for is cutting up to give me bends and the flexi joint which is a very nice bellows as it goes.

I have the set of reverse headers for JIL, but they have been cut and reweld to match a particular modified set of heads where I move the ports, so not much use out side of that. Tried more weird and wonderful things than a weird and wonderful thing..

Dipstick tubes... keeping mine, only have a couple I think, and they are all different lengths.

Sensors, yep sufficient spares, but not letting them go, rather keep them as I have been boring out the old housings to take / utilise the later NTC sensors on ecu upgrades... hence using them as thread adaptors.

Yes I have a bunch of oil cooler pipes, they were all R25 though, as they match a set that I knew were from a 25 lump. Sorry chap, but I did go through them.

Cheers,
Martin
