HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Postby PaulC1959 » Wed May 15, 2013 8:24 pm

Hi Good people!!

Can anybody identify these rear brake calipers from my Venturi 260 APC? They seem to be very similar to those fitted to the rear of Le Mans 03 when I was changing the rear pads. The rear pads also look very similar to those I put onto the Le Mans. If anybody knows what these calipers are off as in the original car make & model an if possible year I would be grateful as I need to get a pair of refurbished calipers to get the Venturi through the MOT as the old ones are sticking on! :x

Yes I suggested getting them refurbed but that didn't seem to go down to well, something about it could take too long!

They appear to be very similar to these, what do you think? Can't get better photo as car is in the workshop not my garage at this time!!

Put these codes into the following website

Longer than trying to find out what they are and where they come from and if they are still available :?:
Photo required of the actual caliper to stand any chance and even then pot luck .If you have numbers then why the confusion :?:

Photo is of actual caliper when I painted them a few years back. I am still favouring the Bendix type caliper fitted to the rear of Le Mans 03 as the raised lettering in the photo on the brakeparts.co.uk photo of a GTA turbo caliper can just be seen in the painted caliper.

Numbers quoted previously from my own investigations!!

Oh well I will again suggest a refurb and point him at the brake parts site. No reply yet from the French contingent across the channel.

Cheers guys

Definitely not 610 (which are similar to xm and Peugeot 605).
Good luck!

Look like Citroen BX front ie similar to GTA rear.

I have recent close up experience of both :-(

...likely with a unique spacer as the BX had solid discs.

Yes carrier is different (narrower) but still fits without exchange in an emergency.

Hi Guys

I have been told by the French contingent that they are from the front of the Citroen BX, (never knew the BX had a front wheel hand brake), and PaulD (Venturi 200) from a Pug 205 Rally car.

I checked out both and there is a BX with vented discs so they are probably from that. I have emailed all of the info and links to Autocraft so let’s see what happens next!
Check out the CITROEN BX BX*19GTI INJECTION inc 16V at the below site

Citroen bx front caliper fitted with a carrier from a mercedes and seals compatible with brake fluid instead of LHM or in other words the rear caliper off an Alpine GTA. If you check the number on your calipers they should read Bendix L 669255 and L 669256 Left and right. Hope this helps.
