Proof that the Eldorado car was a dark blue 610, registration no. J370 KDR ???, who has it now or was that a show registration?

If you want to get out more, you missed a great weekend in Zolder. Make sure you sign up for the next trip out.

Not quite on TV, but in Zolder, in a massive games arcade, there a game called Scud Race, where you race against McLarens, F40s, Porsche GT3's, Vipers and.......Alpine A610 Leman's !

Now I don't want to get you all excited...... but I've heard a whisper that UK Gold may be showing the entire series again in the near future. You have been warned

Unfortunately, it looks like J370KDR doesn't currently exist. This doesn't necessarily mean that its never existed, it may have been replaced by some kind of personalised plate, etc. Or it may have been a false plate.

Maybe the actual owner of the car will view this thread and provide some light on the subject!!!

It appears your link doesn't work, i really should get out more too! Either way GTA's and 610's either silver or dark blue are superb machines! (As for blowing up TR7's or MK1 MR2's, well...that can only be a good thing). I've just managed to lose the tail of my GTA on a narrow lane in Devon - what a twat! Fortunately I only took some paint off the front bumper and cracked the headlight lense...it wasn't my fault 'honestly'. Oh well, could have been much, much worse. :(

If it helps, I discovered the following link http://www.rac.co.uk/myrac which enables you to check out the status of any car by its registration number - all for free. You just need to register (free) and then away you go. It won't give you the owners details (obviously), but it does tell you if the car is still taxed and on the road, and how many owners its had, the last change of keeper date, etc.

Did anyone see the Le Mans winning Alpine on the Goodwood festival of speed coverage??? Looked good, but was only mentioned as a Renault not an Alpine. Dont know about everyone else, but this event always sounds good but disappoints......very few people seem to really try up the hill. It appears to be mostly a show event. TV coverage was nothing more than a Jenson Button fest.....and he decided not to brave the hill by doing doughnuts and burnouts when he should have been trying to beat the record set by Nick Heidfeld in a Mclaren. All his excuses about how difficult it was to drive up the hill in a F1 car were a bit sad when you saw how Heidfeld went in 1999!

Yes, I saw it on TV on ITV's "Speed Sunday". I've never been to the event, allways wanted to, and this was the first TV coverage I've ever seen of it. Shame about the Le Mans winning Alpine being desribed as a Renault, I'm sure it would heve been more interesting to the viewers to have had it described as an Alpine.....
Anyway, now I'm not too sure if I'm that interested in attending this "show" event, I would have hoped for more "racing", but perhaps this is just the TV angle. Did any one go this year, or in the past? Is it mostly a "show" event or do more of the drivers "race" their machines up the hill?

Goodwood

Postby Mr Jon » Mon Jun 28, 2004 10:04 am

I went to Goodwood yesterday and had a fantastic day, it's not really a sporting event but more of a fun day. Some cars really go for it and others just cruise up the hill. The day is more about seeing extremely rare cars one would never get the chance to see. I think I should pass on this advise to the Renault R23 F1 test driver who passed the grandstand doing about 160 mph! Not bad considering the track or should I say 'lane' is only about 12 foot wide with a nasty curve to it! We witnessed this all from a few feet away, the most amazing noise in the world!

Just missed the GTA going up the hill but the Renault R23 made up for it. Incidentally my GTA broke down in the fast lane of the A3 on the way home, the digital fuel gauge said I had 5.5 gallons of fuel left in, it lied massively! It had run out of fuel! It was embarrasing telling the RAC!

If we're getting as remote as seeing cars parked at the side of the street in TV series then perhaps anyone who is going to Eurodisney this summer could confirm to me whether or not I saw an A610 making a guest appearance in the "Visionarium" film show there. Just a fleeting glance of a metalic burgundy (I think) one stuck in traffic towards the end of the show as Jules Verne is taking a tour of modern day Paris. I think I've seen it twice now but I'm still not 100% sure as it all happens very quickly.
