I'm tempted to drill some holes in it to see if it makes a difference...never did me any harm.

So, David, how long and how much....

If anyone has attempted to download the Anglesy track day video from my web page but gave up/got bored because the download was too slow, I've changed the link to a different web host:

http://www.gigashare.com/files/embed/1584363288.html (ignore - old broken link)

or visit:

http://uk.youtube.com/user/AlpineGTA

This one seems much quicker and should take only a few minutes to download  rather than a few hours!

Hey Juzz,
The sounds eminating from your GTA is awesome. There is some turbo whirl audible too, I am doubting it is a stock unit. What would a race exhaust sound like with a standard blower?? Also, how does the single outlt pipe sound by comparison...I just want the GTA I am hopefully buying to sound better than all the gtr nit boxes here in Aus

The turbo whirl is from a completely standard unit. The free flow exhaust just makes it more audible! :) I'm planning to take my GTA out with the camcorder again soon to make some better sounding clips. Sounds really awsome driving under bridges or echoing off stone walls! :D As for the single exit pipe, you're better asking David G. that. He sells them and has one fitted to his GTA.

Thanks Juzz,
I was under the impression it may have been a race turbo too, but when I thingk about it a free-lowing exhaust would help things along somewhat. More flow = better spool up and less muffling of noise. I will have to ask him what the dB level is for the exhaust, so I don't get pinged during the Roadworthy check for reg. :)

thanks
Chris.

Just bought a StickyPod camera mount for my car. Took a few short experimental clips today and stuck them up on my web page if anyone's interested. Sorry, but I had to remove the clips of the A110 and A310 to make room!

Short clips (Ignore - old broken link)

Juzz, nice work.
I like the bit as you roar away round a corner and down the road and it says MO7S behind you on the tarmac, more than once.

nice one.... seems like a good bit of kit and this years must have trackday accessory  ....no more requirements for the scared passenger with shaky hands doing the vid anymore

I think I'll invest in one and i can do some vids of some runs in the Alps  for a start! I don't know if its approved for use on a motor racing circuit though :?:.....I think you may have to use a bolt on bracket to secure your camera:?

Damn good accessory for the Road though 8)

and you are happy driving about on those bumpy roads with a camera stuck on the sid/roof of your car???? obviously yes!
Looks like a good tool to monitor car performance too, suspension travel, engine bay (if camera can take the heat), could be good to tape on some aero-tails and watch the aerodymanics over the rear glass/spoiler as speek increases.....
I wonder what it looks like from a front number plate view.....
What sort of camera are you using?

Found another site here camera mounts which also has some useful information and advice on usage. A good video gallery too. These guys aren't any connection to the Sticky Pod, which I'd already bought from the 'States before I found this site. They do mention, some tracks might require bolt on mounts.

The Sticky Pod seems very secure though. It has four suction cups and a tether which helps stabilise and secure the camera. I quickly gained confidence in it!

I'm using a Sony DCR-TRV140E digital 8 camera. A few years old now put still fairly compact, although you can get much smaller/lighter ones now. It's possible to buy bullet cams to plug into your camera if it has dv input. Much smaller and lighter and give more shooting options. I might invest in a external mic to position in the car out of the wind buffetting, so I can better capture engine and exhaust noise! :D

Had a go at making another video, filming my GTA and my brother's Fiat Coupe. Click here. (Old broken link :( )

The sound's still a bit poor. My camera wont accept an external mic. :( and the camera's a bit shaky because we made the mistake of filming on a rubbish bumpy concrete road. Learning all the time! :D

File size is about 12mb BTW and should be played back in 16:9 widescreen aspect ratio if your media player a has that option. I would recommend divx player if you're using windows or totem if you're using linux. :D
