Rear Spoiler Grill

Has anyone got a knackered one of these they don't want even half a one would do .

Half a grill is enough as long as its L/RH , not half along the length
Needed to mock-up a few things .

Its all about flow ,rear engines ,overheating etc.There doesn't seem enough of it to me.PG got me thinking about it when he mentioned the side vents.They would seem to be ideal for engine bay cooling, but its directed between the panels for airbox pickup. I've dumped this method as I've put the ART pipe on. I'm talking about performance and not practicalities with this so...........If you were to open these up to the bay then you will get a good flow thro ,the elements will also get in so it needs a bit of thought.Same with the intercooler as its position does not lend itself to good pickup.I'm not a big fan of ze PANZER school of design when it comes to intercooler/bodykit bolt-ons so was thinking of a more subtle method to direct air to the cooler.Something like a Scooby scoop but on the spoiler , it needn't be that obtrusive ,only 30mm high so wouldn't obscure rear visibility.As with oil ,it's all about heat disipation and smooth flow ,flow the heads,freeflow exhausts etc .I know the intercooler isn't going to have a major effect on performance but a cooler system is a better system and will cost little I think compared to a Renault standard replacement.Or I may be talking bullocks .

Lee, if you look through the top grille at the intercooler, youll see it doesnt flow into the intercooler at all, the intercooler just works by radiation by the lower pressure behind the car when it is at speed. El Crapola!

What youve thought of has been done on an A610 though, as the intercooler is mounted at a different angle.

Cut the back panel of the intercooler out like David and I have done.....at least it will flow air...then get rid of everything round about and duct air in from the bottom of the car via bits cut out next to the lights...easy...wont cost a penny and it works!!!

As David pointed out the angle of the intercooler and the fact that there is a lip underneath the grill would still not allow much air flow......cut the back out and run some ducting from under the car. It will flow way way more air than what youre proposing and is invisible, and more to the point virtually cost free!!!!

Yeh, perhaps you're right ,had the spolier out today to have a gander ,also the two side vents .As you say it's going to be better to run some feeds from under and point them directly at it .Looking at the 610 version ,sloping back it might benifit.

The side vents could be usefull tho I think.There's not much room to play with as the roll bar is in the way and a structural join between inner panels,but you could possibly create a long ,thin slot to facilitate some sort of ducting .The outer vents point upwards so water shouldn't be a major problem .
