I think they are preoccupied with repatriating cars.

Back after a great day out as always. Pics will follow tomorrow but in the meantime a short summary of my trip. Hands up, it was me that ran out of fuel on the M25. Went to three closed petrol stations to fill up before I got on the motorway but as my dash was telling me I had 3 gallons in the tank I thought I would get some on the M25. Between junctions 8&9 we spluttered to a halt and called the AA to bring fuel but 50 mins later a recovery truck turned up without fuel and loaded us up to the nearest garage. Long story short we were now well past out tunnel time but eventually arrived at the circuit 11:45 local. Felipe had suffered partial throttle cable failure but inginuity prevailed and he managed to get out on track for a session before having to make a better job of it and then not risking total failure by going back out. Joe blew a hose and Salama and son set about fixing that ready to put in some hot laps in the afternoon. Dave miles showed off his fabulous John Law twin turbo conversion on track and plenty of smiles fro Dave told how pleased he was. Yellow flags were raised and our glorious leader was on the side of the track later to be removed under people power with driveshaft failure unfortunately but I'm sure he is pleased its not the gearbox. There are other stories which can be told with more accuracy than I'm able to but but one more is the sight of Joe at the train terminal on the way back deciding he would take his car apart in the car park and fit new door locks, well why not I say. Good man.
Hopefully Steve is now on British soil and I believe being rescued this end by club power in the shape of Simon Gamblin, well done Simon. A great day peppered with chalenges small and large but memories as all good trips should.
Thanks Steve for organising yet again, brilliant.

Trevor.

Does anyone know the part number for the accelerator cable? As mentioned by Trevor I need to replace mine after it failed yesterday at Croix. Luckily I did not have to drive back with a piece of string to operate the throttle as Simon had to on one of his previous outings.
Temperatures must have somehow got too hot and part of the plastic assembly inside melted. A bit of bravery and encouragement from Tony Law (thanks for your help) saw us remove the entire cable and release the melted / fused bits. Cable now free to move but the assembly bit by the pedal is well and truly broken. I will post a picture of cable tie heaven to show the temporary repair to get me home.

Anyway part number, where I can get one from (dealer or otherwise) and price most welcome.

Ohh and a big thanks to Steve for organising the event. I hope you got home safely. At times it can be thankless task organising events like this, just want you to know that from mine ( and Trevor's perspective) it is much appreciated, these events give us all the opportunity to see exactly what our cars are and are not capable of.
At last I bought one !

Here are a few pics starting with my brake upgrade and lack of fuel. A great day out and wish there were more, and as Felipe said once again, thank you.

Nice one and Thanks for taking the time to post the pics appreciated! Looks like you all had a cracking time bar the break downs, I guess UK Alpines don't like going home!
