New purchase

Postby Custard » Mon Oct 14, 2013 7:10 pm

Just purchased a red GTA non turbo 1988, I had been looking for a while for a turbo but in the end stumbled upon this one locally, which was in generally good condition but requiring some basic maintenance but it has a complete history, every invoice mot and even a diary, the price was right so I took the plunge. It was running rough on tick over so striped down the the front carb and re set, managed to get it running fairly we'll but I think a Holley is required. Took it out over the weekend it goes pretty well, all I could find that needs doing is two rear wheel bearings under way, plus oil is leeking out of both rocker covers and both my window switches are Unserviceable does any one no we're to get new ones plus my passenger door motor when the switch works just rumbles, also my fuel gauge is on full all the time which would be good if it was true. Any advice welcome . Based in Sussex.

Welcome! Any pictures of your new toy?

Fuel guages are notorious for being useless and giving bad readings. Could be a few things, try the search facility on the forum. Electric Window switches are 2nd hand only I believe. R25/Espace ones can be modified to fit as far as I'm aware.

Enjoy your purchase. 8)

Hi,

Good to hear another Alpine is being used and kept on the road, if you haven't already contact Stephen as he has some of the parts you need- definitely new wheels bearings.

I have the JL Engineering Holley kits on the shelf if you want any information regarding the kit PM me your email address.

Regards,

John.

Create a photobucket or Flickr account (it's free) and upload your photo's onto it. Then use the Img button above and paste the web address where you uploaded said photo to. eg:

you can now upload photo's direct from your pc by using the "upload attachment" feature just under the post a reply text box where you write the message. Can still do it the other way but if you flickR/photobucket/whatever is closed then the photo's will disappear.

never thought I would want a list but now find myself needing one just to remind me: Clio V6 230, 5 gt turbo, 5 Gordini turbo, Megane RS 300 Trophy.
