Car Road Tax is changing!!

Postby The Saint » Mon Jan 27, 2014 5:46 pm

Hi just seen this on the DVLA web site and thought I would share..

https://www.gov.uk/government/news/dire ... e-tax-disc

This may help for those of us that only use their cars for a short amount of time in the year...

So no more Tax discs from October!! ( Remember, you heard it here first !! LOL)

And the catch is...

No more transfer of unused tax when you buy a car. Helps with the continuous insurance enforcement.

So they want me to give the worst '1984' totalitarian institute (the DVLA) a direct debit facility....
No chance. I wouldn't trust them not to blind themselves with a stapler let alone give them the possibility to empty my account (all £5.30) and then take 12 months telling me that it's not a mistake, and eventually 12 months later confirming it was a mistake but it was my fault (for being stupid enough to give them the oppertunity of F*cking it up)!

I'll see your DVLA and raise you an HMRC.

Their local offices could be cr4p but there was usually a few sensible people there which you'd get to eventually, but dealing with Swansea is a 1000% nightmare.
Now they've closed all the local offices, theres no voice of reason in the place.
One day someone will drive down there with a shotgun and run amok, and he/she'll be doing the same thing thousands of others have thought of doing but not had the bottle (including me).
