It had nothing to do with Renault. At the time (1991 or thereabouts) I was caravanning,
... and it was all too easy to be on an auto route and find myself doing 60/70 mph which was not good, and in a Magazine I saw an advert for this "Lite-on AP150" cruise control.
It was a really easy fit... The Vacuum throttle Servo is fitted behind the spare wheel, plumbed into the Brake Vacuum pipe, the throttle actuator cable curls around the rear of the car and is attached to the throttle cable at a point just before where the cable meets the operating wheel (atmo), and a multicore goes from the Servo to the control unit. On the Atmo a feed is taken off the coil for engine speed pulses and there is a connection to the brake pedal switch to trip it when brakes are applied.
Thats about it..... I don't use it much these days... sometimes on the way to Macon, and I often check it out over here (40 mph
) on the longest road which is about 3 and a bit miles long... but called "The Five Mile Road".... Tourism Advertising !!!!!
