GBRL PRESS RELEASE 29/01/2014
Curborough Sprint Course - Saturday 15th February 2014
“To preserve, celebrate and demonstrate all aspects of the Group B Era, focusing on originality, the personalities involved, history and the legacy it created and displaying vehicles in a totally honest and unambiguous manner ”.
Group B Rallying Legends ran their inaugural event last year at Curborough to much acclaim and are running it again this year at Curborough on the 15th February.
Whilst the focus of the day is to gather together fantastic Ex-Works rally cars and period clubman cars and demonstrate them to the public GBRL recognise that the Group B rules from 1982 – 1986 meant that cars had to be homologated directly into Group B , requiring 200 example cars to be built , or transferred in from previous homologation groups such as Group 4. This resulted in a number of rare and unusual road cars.
GBRL would like to invite anyone owning these cars to join in and bring along their car to display at Curborough. We would like to get as many of these fabulous cars, both competition and road cars, together to celebrate this remarkable period in rallying history.
You may not even realise that your car was homologated into Group B. Below is a list of some of the more popular ones :
