Amal Valve.....

Postby The Saint » Tue Apr 01, 2014 7:57 am

Ok Before I start pulling my hair out trying to locate one of these, new.... As Renault say that the part number is now obsolete?? :Butt
Has anyone got an old one hiding in their stash of parts??? I have looked at "Simon Auto" but the web site is not that easy to navigate... :crazy
I have read in the forums about others trying out the Ford RS part... but could not find any info for their results??? So any info for Alt part numbers etc etc, would be most appreciated...

Thanks....

Vince.... Not too sure if this is what you are looking for... Pt No. 031140... but if it is, there is no price or availability mentioned. If it is the right part, you will need to email them for that info.
Hope this helps.

Not 100% sure but I think it's the same as the 21 Turbo. If it is there is a guy on the 21 TOC who breaks 21's more often than I break alpines so should have spares.

We always used to throw them away on the 21 turbos. Didn't realise GTAs had them on! :crazy

It is supposed to shorten turbo spool up isn't it though more control?? I've never driven a GTA turbo, but the A610 is supposed to be a more consistent performer with less off the old turbo off boost/on boost contrast. The higher compression ratio probably helps too. I didn't find turbo lag to be an issue on my A610, no mope than making sure you had the revs right before trying something, and that's common to all cars. I know Vince is trying to restore his A610 back to completely standard, so an AMAL valve should be fitted
Vince, is your old one physically broken or just clogged up? Might be worth a dip in an ultrasonic cleaner otherwise?
If its broken physically, do you have all the bits? Its amazing what patience, glue, a soldering iron and ABS filament can achieve. Not pretty, but functional.

Just a thought?
