Thanks for that Martin.
My car was tuned at track and road and yes it drives very well, so I agree probably best to go there again.
However I also had my old engine tuned by Chris aka Scoff on the adaptronic and it was primitive to say the least.
Starting from cold and hot crap haha, however like all things we all learn as we go on. In his defence however John law did find faults in the map sensor and crank sensor which was probably the main reason for my cars erratic running. ( all these troublesome parts were supplied from a Mr Gentleman company ART, the only parts I rate from Mr Gentleman are his charge-cooler system which are excellent and really work)
Tony your tune was done later so probably much more refined than mine.
Bruntingthorpe would be good though.

Oh - has Ced got the map sensor and injectors now then? Does he need to be binning them then?

Martin, I have no idea what he picked up.
But I would suggest he speaks to John Law.
To confirm or deny, although I got the impression this was discovered while tuning my twin turbo.
So he probably does not have the faulty 2bar map sensor that is. I did however have the standard one and the original one piggy backed together, so I could swap back to the renix if necessary.(he may have the standard one)
The old injectors were serviced during the engine swap, but were not fitted to my new engine.
Although I did want them to be, some dodgy make apparently, and what made me laugh the most was the supplier Mr gentleman denied supplying them.
Any more info you would need to speak to John. But I never felt there was ever a fuelling issue, it was just starting it had a problem with. And that was down to the crank sensor, I had to disconnect that and reconnect, if it did not start. Steve Kentish taught me that trick, when it failed to start at Bromley.
If I had my way it would still be running the adaptronic on those injectors. Apparently the guys at track and road would have been baffled by it. Although when I spoke to them in person they denied this and said it would not have been a problem.

Dave,

Ok, no worries. So the base map stored in the ecu now is for a 2 bar map sesor? If so he will need to swap to a 2.5 or 3 bar map sensor in anycase. Just so that he can be sorting these bits now, as this stuff is the kind of thing to catch you out later.

But yes there was some issue with the crank sensor, the manufacture of adaptronic does not recommend the magnetic resistor type(even though everyone in the uk is using that type) and told me a pulse version would be better, as it's on or off.
However on going down this route with the emerald ecu caused us much embarrassment, as I insisted on it. Part supplied by scoff, the problem was though it was not designed for high rpm.
So we are now back to using a standard magnetic resistor type.

Maybe it has something to do with me ditching the pump suppressor, and yes David Gentleman I do get whining through my stereo on occasions, so something is causing electrical noise.

Martin, what is the standard map sensor?
Because the adaptronic was using the one above that, don't recall the number.
But it should be the same as what Simon Taylor is using.
Also the injectors were alleged to be 440 and as I say were just serviced.
Scoff felt they were big enough and had lots more to give.
I never hit any walls. Haha

Dave, what the f**k are you talking about, once again?

Ive never sold map sensors or injectors, or crank sensors. How can I sell crank sensors and it be 'my' crank sensor, they are only made by Renault. Likewise Map sensors, made by Bosch, and injectors Bosch / Lucas etc.

The only injectors Ive ever sold are high end RC Engineering ones ( http://www.rceng.com ) which you've certainly never bought off of me as they are near £100 a piece as I haven't sold them to Alpine owners.

You obviously have this unknown personal vendetta.

If you get whining through your stereo on 'some occasions' then its not the fuel pump is it, it runs all the time.

You have quite rightly said you removed my low mileage engine which I was to have back.
Which subsequently went mysteriously missing while in your possession.
AT the same time I returned a larger turbo which I had bought of you, which was faulty you were supposed to be checking rebuilding or whatever. And took 2 years to return said turbo after lots of badgering by myself. But not as a larger hybrid I had purchased but as a standard t3 turbo.
Which I still have.
The map sensor, crank sensor , throttle sensor and injectors were supplied by you as I had paid for the engine transplant in full, and was your way to make up for the engine that still smoked.
You never paid me any of the money back and if you totalled the bits I got of you you would still owe me.
So no I have got no time for you or your antics. But as I said I do rate your charge cooler and do recommend people buy them from you.

What are you on about, you didnt pay a penny for any of the bloody work!

I didnt charge you for the engine as you said it was the same fault as as the one we took out, and I don't think 'low milegae' means anything, as you wanted it changed as you said it was faulty. I paid TT near £1000 for all the labour to fit the replacement engine, and on top of that I supplied you a NEW turbo to replace the one you made yourself in your shed!

Lets repeat here, you did not pay one penny for any of this work, because basically, as the new engine was faulty too, I couldnt.

1. Why would I want to keep your 'faulty' engine and then pay out for a brand new turbo to replace your home built one?

2. How could I charge you for work which made no difference. I didnt charge you for the engine, or any labour. Not a penny, I was just under 2k out of pocket, and you didnt have to spend a penny.

2 years to return a turbo? If I remember rightly you were waiting ages for Lee to send the turbo people a compressor wheel that never turned up to have fitted to it? Remember, hmmm or did you leave that point out.?

Is this the sh*t you have been peddling to everyone?

Ive just spotted more BS in your post, you said you sent me a larger turbo to rebuild at the time of swapping the engine.

No, you told me you had a turbo on your old engine (the one that got pinched from mine) that was fairly new as you built it yourself and obviously the replacement engine I put in yours had its original unknown turbo on it.

You sent me a turbo that needed rebuilding AFTER this fact, which I sent to TurboAktive, but they needed a new comp wheel from you 'which you said Lee had' and it was sent and never turned up. So the turbo was rebuilt with the standard compressor wheel.

So you had a fully rebuilt warrantied turbo sent to you, at a cost of £495 to me.

Is this all becoming crystal clear to you now Dave?

Your memory is worse than mine please see your pm. I purchased a hybrid stage something or other of you, which I soon discovered to be faulty. And paid you in full for the engine prior to discovering it still smoked after you dropped the car of. I notice you have deleted your line of how my engine disappeared.also you may recall the engine I purchased of you from eBay was a late year model with twin regulators, (note I still have your feedback ,paid promptly good ebayer, I will put this in my gallery in due time) however the engine you fitted was a single regulator I.e not the one I had purchased in my eyes.The turbo on the engine you removed had a freshly rebuilt turbo on it from turbo force. The one I dismantled was the large one I bought of you. As my new one went walkies with the engine you offered to rebuild the other, unfortunately the compressor wheel was not sent to you initaly I can't recall why it was in 2009 and somehow went missing in the Bermuda Triangle between you and Lee. Perhaps if you had contacted me during an absence of two years and apologised sincerely for the loss of my cars original engine this breakdown in relations would not have occurred. To top it of as the car was still unserviceable having stayed at yours for most if the summer for a one week job. I took it to lee who completed the job proffesionaly within a week. And you are surprised that we are not best buddies. But If you wish to continue this charade please ring me on as per the pm I sent you. However where credit is due I do recommend your chargecooler system and the turbo boost smart mod thing, even if Martin Faulkes was not a fan it worked for me.
