bleed nipples

Postby The Saint » Sun Sep 07, 2014 3:33 pm

Can anyone tell me the size of the bleed nipples used on the GTA turbo?? I want to replace the Clutch one to begin with then all the brake callipers with those self bleeding stainless steel ones. The clutch one has been a right thorn in my side!!
Thanks Vince

Clee is your best bet for this info. Is the clutch one seized? Be careful with it as I think I had to replace most of the union and "nut" on one of my GTA's in the past when I tried the old heave ho too hard one day...

Thanks Martin, but I think I have sized it up now... its a 7mm one. I hate these aluminium ones they are too soft and just bigger up easy.. I have one of those stainless steel self bleeding ones on order... will update you on my test of it...

UPDATE

Ok my new self bleeding nipple arrived today..

bleed-nipple.jpg

Personally I think its the best thing I have got for the car to date!! Once fitted, opened the nipple, a few pumps of the peddle then closed the nipple, and all was perfect!!! YAY!! I forget the amount of times I have bled this clutch, and this has got to be the quickest and easiest yet!! and since it is stainless steel, its not going to round off like the original one, you don't need to constantly keep opening and closing the dam thing!! 30 seconds and its done...

Yes it's longer and sticks down further, but still clear of anything catching it. So for now I have my GTA working!! :super
