Today I managed to clean out the inside and paint the floors.

Then with thanks to my brother and his mate we managed to get the car rolled on its side ready to strip off the underseal The frame is pretty Ghetto but it seems to work ok and is plenty strong enough.

But there has been a bit of a set back the Sodablaster guy cant make it on Monday due to his machine being broken so he is now coming on Sat the 4th which means i'm not going to be able to get it back to a rolling shell by next weekend now.

Most impressive :up

If you are having to do all of this work outside as some of the photos seem to suggest, it might be worth getting yourself down to Costco! I bought a 6m x 3m gazebo to rebuild & store my kit car, my GTA Le Mans also lived in there when I owned it, the kit got demoted down to a car cover and tarpaulin. It was a substantial affair that lasted nearly 5 years before the roof split due to it rubbing on the ridge of the frame, this despite being up 24/7 and being exposed to the British weather including a lot of high wind and snow . The last time I was in Costco Milton Keynes a few months ago they still had them in stock and you would get change from £300.

I got myself a upgrade on the tent hopefully it won't need to be under it for too long.

Managed to scrape all the underseal off the main chassis down to the paint which took bloody ages!

As the soda blaster isnt coming till saturday now I needed to get what i could done. When he turns up he will blast all the suspension mounting points and engine bay so I can paint that

I also painted the floors and all the suspension in 2pack Epoxy.

I also painted the floors and all the suspension in 2pack Epoxy.

That's a lot of paint for one car lol

Seriously great rate of progress though. Puts me to shame with my projects. Food for thought.

Just a quick update, I managed to get the fuel tanks back in at the weekend and have just received some of the parts back.

I am still waiting for the water pipes and bonnet catch mounts but should be collecting them tonight then the car can be put back the right way up and the engine strip down can begin once I free up on of the engine stands.

Headlight pods, bonnet catches and new tank plates cool. Not sure what the drilled plate in the middle of the second photo is, best guess is a plate that is mounted at the side of the radiator to encourage airflow through the radiator but I'm probably wrong?

Its been a whiles since I posted but have been busy with the car.

The engine rebuild is well underway and should be back together in a couple of weeks and i will post some photo. The gearbox has been rebuilt and it will now have electric power steering.

I decide to remake the front wishbones as they were very badly corroded so this weekend i finished the top wishbonesand made a start on the lower ones which I should have finished sometime this week.
