Whilst I recognise that the one above is a spoof, why don't we persuade Stephen to add a new "Alpine Babes" section/category to the forum and we can compete to populate it with pics of real babes sprawled over our own GTAs? It would be a tad more interesting than "I spotted a red GTA etc on the M4"!

I'd volunteer to be the administrator for that forum.

I recently bought a new water pump (approx £70), only to discover that the part which was worn (eroded as as result of cavitation) was the cover plate - not supplied with the new pump. A new cover plate from Renault is around (£28) but is one of the infamous back order jobs. I couldn't afford to have the car off the road for weeks so I filled the eroded part of the old cover plate with Fernox plastic metal. Unfortunately, my overheating problem remains so the radiator is next on my hit list.

PS The new pump came with a significantly smaller diameter pully wheel which required swsapping with the old one.

Oops! The cover plate is around £28 - dunno how that smiley got there!

any parts on backorder..... if the part no starts with a 60 it's an alpine part so if there is anything you need we can have it sent direct from the factory on the support truck to Donington you have to pay in euros in cash mind but you might get the part you want quicker and cheaper.

sorry to hear that you're not having much luck either!

I think my heating problems are now sorted...with some help from Andy on Saturday we put the thermo housing back on and ran the car for a while. It went up to temperature as normal so thought the problem was still there and diagnosed the problem as being the water pump.

UNTIL....i took the car out for a spin and the temp now drops from 90 when you rev the engine. 1 hours worth of driving later it still hadn't overheated, drove for two hours yesterday and the problem still seems to be resolved.

Even though i tested the thermo in boiling water it is obviously faulty and has been the result of the overheating. Hoping to bring the car to the Ace tonight (hope i haven't spoken too soon!).

Ok, I spoke too soon so please revoke my last post.

Car overheated on the way back from the Ace Cafe. Seems to have lost coolant, don't know if it's just spat some out or if it's eaten a hose. The RAC kept me waiting for nearly two hours and have now hit my maximum call out limit but that's the least of my worries!

Next step is to scream very fu*king loudly then get the block tested for any hair line cracks.

I now genuinely hate the damn car, it's an utter world of pain.
