New to Renault, Clutch Replacement Advice

Greetings from Japan!!
I have recently picked up a 1987 Alpine Turbo (E-D501 chassis, Z7U engine) and it is in need of a clutch replacement.
I am a competent mechanic, but never having worked on a PRV, I was wondering if it is best to just pay a pro to do the job for me. Cost will be about Yen 180,000 / 1,300 Euro / $1,600 USD.

I can do my MG in my garage, but I don't have any special tools (if needed).

Sorry, I forgot to include the JPY to GBP conversion. It comes to about GPB 1,000. Wow.

No special tools required but you need to drop it out the bottom .Pretty straightforward a job if you know your way round a toolbox

How about time? Assuming no hidden problems that is. How high does the car need to be raised and can the gearbox be handled with a floor jack only? And finally, any parts suppliers you can recommend? Parts in these parts are 3-4 times normal. I also have an MGA and prices are easily 4 times that of parts from the UK, US, and Australia. Cheaper to order, ship, pay taxes. Crazy.

A day should do it for a first timer in the shed .You need to pivot the car about the front wheels and get the rear approx 1.2m clear under rear bumper .Bread trolley type thing to drop assembly onto and the roll out the back .Will find some pics andguide to drop it out .
Two high lift trolley jacks, a 4"x4" fencepost ,wheel chocks and a trolley dolly required to lift,support and remove .The rest are just spanners .I can supply Valeo clutch or uprated Helix etc if required .
Put a shopping list together and I'll see what I can do .Best replaced the gear linkage bush whilst in there as well .£5 ,1 min job with all out but a nightmare in situ .

Edit .You cannot drop just the gearbox ,the whole subframe assem comes out ,engine,box etc .

New Parts - Simon Auto Germany, Meca Parts in France both good.

Second hand parts if you need any I can supply as I am breaking a D501 currently (see signature for ebay link). I can ship worldwide no problem.

meh ......I still have nightmares about the wink bush in the DD Tone mobile .I have stock of genuine Ren bushes + would advise fitting new fork arm ,also in stock + wishbone bushes and all arms etc
I have many parts re-furbished and ready to fit for most areas if required .Better fit service exchange than rusty seconds

I recall someone posting pictures of lifting their car to get the unit out. Possibly Simon Taylor....

Thanks again everyone. Clee, do you have a full list of all the parts we should need? Plus anything else that would be a "good idea while you are there"? Forgetting a 10p part only to learn that the whole lump has to come out again would be a nightmare.

While I have changed literally 50 or more clutches, I'm not sure I have the space for this job. But I am looking into options. At the very least, I will have to get the parts.

Been there, done that. This car only has 50,000km so maybe a slightly uprated clutch is in order.
