The Car is absolutely original apart from a change in colour (from Red to Jade Green during the restoration) every part on the car is genuine and it has never been upgraded, messed with or been damaged in anyway.

Lovely car but owner doesn't seem to realise it's had some upgrades. Engine was replaced for 2849cc GTA version and I think gearbox was changed for 5 speed. All improvements though.

Well you live and learn, I didn't realise the chassis came off on a A310...so much easier to get at all those rusty bits...shame I'm still 6 inches too tall to drive one.

Hey Lee, You can be made to fit! I modified the A310 that belongs to Jim Valentine so that he can easily fit his 6'5'' frame in along with a full cage too! Buy it and come Macon!

The shell needs cutting off the chassis which can cause some problems if bodged and not properly bonded back to the chassis.

Interested to hear what you did John as I can confirm in standard trim the 310 is not suitable to lanky chaps.

I couldn't even get into johnb's lovely white 310. My knee was touching the top of the dash so you couldn't move the steering wheel or indicators.

Just had a look at my car and it probably only means drilling 4 new holes in a position to suit the driver's height. The floor will probably need reinforcement at the rear holes as the inbuilt, laminated, reinforcement (timber possibly), only extends part way towards the rear of the car. As you say, it would be interesting to know how John did it. I'm sure you'd fit after the seat was repositioned.

Lee, you need some of those hi-tech new-fangled variable length legs!

It wasn't too much work. First moved the seat back, you could do it how Johnb has mentioned or fit runners- we fitted side mounts. If your legs resemble two giant redwoods then it will be too much of a stretch to reach the steering wheel once sitting back in the seat. To overcome this we simply machined a spacer to bring the steering wheel closer. Alternatively extending the steering column would also be a good way to do it. The gear stick doesn't need much adjustment, just slightly angled if you have short arms.

If you're tall and want to fit in an a110 then that's a different matter!
