.......two months to go till Goodwood ...I don't think it will be on track but will be there .....
More bits arrive and fitted .New clutch line and acc cable + brake bias, fittings and pipe ,cunifer rather than copper .Lids back on front and rear ...bit close on the tank .
Might swap feed to pumps with a 180 fitting but not really need as all free loops ....

Well, turbo coming together as I got a bit bored with the heads, and mislaid some tooling I need to finish some machining on the mill... cocktail is made up of T3 plain journal bearing technology as straight out of my parts bin, and DIY rebuild... simple and sufficient; quite interesting that the failures with the roller bearing technologies are now starting to show up, especially as it was developed for to be more rugged, and indeed now finding this isn't actually always the case as the failure rates are starting to climb.. The turbine is actually a diesel shaft, and I have it in two different trim values (will start with the smaller trim in it's first trials..), and known as the large T frames. I have a twin scroll T3 flange turbine housing to match, so will see what this old tech can do.. perfect for a dole racer Rat Project :D The compressor, well we'll see, should be fun...

.. and when the turbine limits are exceeded, well give the larger one a go... not forgetting to wind up the boost most un-gentlemanly high :D , and tune for maximum smoke! LOL

Cheers,
Martin

Where we got to with this then ?
Well ...Pretty far in terms of little jobs ticked off and major engine work .
Car needs a few electrics sorting out/putting in .Fire extinguisher install .Big lumps of very expensive, much skilled love bundles putting together in the frame and we will be good for finger crossing in the Spring .
Popping on the polycarb and fannying about as and when I can with March weekends booked for self absorbed Man bonding late night jollies to see the big things take shape :D
I'd love to say it'll be ready for RS but even if it is it'll be too loud and too monsterous to even contemplate
mixing in such refined company, wot wot :Butt

Surely fannying about can't be classed as man bonding? :0)

All joking aside, I'd be wary of the decibels, my silver car failed - and that's much quieter than my blue one!

98...no way Jose .Not fussed .All about getting it done this year .All the show and tell can come after ..if it all works ....

I'm not beating myself up about it anymore ..It has nearly gone in the skip a few times ......reality check is I've built a new business from scratch and this also in the last 4 years + fed those rugrats and kept me-dawny relatively happy so all is good :D ;)

Martin also,he's put a shed load of effort and heartache into it + helped out loads of others with their various projects and the man is extremely time poor so kudos to him .
We'll get it burning rubber this year ...July 5th or 12th is the date for another RATS' open day ... some old fuckers 50th on the 8th so lets have a bit of an Alpeen knees up :super :super

Another old fuckers 50th here this year, going to have a proper big party, hopefully with a small car show included.
