Breaking 1990 GTA Turbo

Postby BIG_MVS » Tue Jan 13, 2015 7:51 pm

Sat outside in the elements for 15 years so bad chassis rot. Black in colour but all panels shot paint wise. Shame as it's a good spec.

Black Leather
Air Conditioning
ABS

All parts available.

Leather Door cards now sold.

Anyone interested in a set of different wheels? It has Grey Mini Lites on it, yes that's right Mini Lites. They are 15" and look the correct offset and width.

Same as 5 Turbo 2 I think?

Edit yes 4 x 98 and GTA is 4 x 100

Seem to remember someone saying they will fit with "wobbly" wheel bolts but that does not instill confidence within me...

Here she is. Real shame it's got in this condition. 15 years outside is not good for these cars. Keep yours tucked up and warm!

What condition are the driveshafts? I need a passenger side one for my Le Mans. Has the car done lots of miles / had the boost turned up?

Thanks, John

I see you have the rear struts on fleabay.
What do you have lying around for the front ?

I can't get mine approved with Gaz, so need to go back to factory spec.
Luckily Lee gave me the ones he took off the car.

So I have shocks & springs, what I'm looking for is the rest of the strut, top mount etc, basically so I can build them up & have them lying ready to go, I'll have to swap GAZ with stock every time I go for approval, so it's easier to unbolt a complete strut & swap, rather than mess around with spring compressors & stuff at least twice a year.
Also, since all modifications have to be approved and recorded here, if I'm stopped by the police & they notice the GAZ, they can slap a prohibition on the car, so a roadside change may be necessary..............

I might consider taking the complete back struts off you if you don't have the individual parts, do you have the bits to assemble front ones too which could be thrown in the box ?

Hi Bob, what a palaver you are having. That sounds like a right faff to change the shocks every year and keep them inside the car all the time just in case the cops stop you. I think it's the Alpeen gods saying "BOB, JUST KEEP IT STANDARD"

Right I'm not prepared to risk hands and limbs stripping the struts sorry, you are not the first person to ask so again I am not willing to split them sorry. Rear struts as you have seen are available immediately, fronts will have to wait until my next visit to the car last week in March. I will do them for the same price as the rears and it will be around £20 shipping to Norway so you are looking at £100 for the front and rears shipped.

Have you asked Clee to see if he might have the strut bits you need as an alternative?
