A610 high revs

Postby jagcat12 » Fri Apr 10, 2015 7:28 pm

Drove car today and started normally but as warmed up the revs on closed throttle started at 1500 rpm and gradually would not idle below 3000 rpm which made for interesting town driving.Managed to get it home and after about an hour started again and all back to normal except revs just over 1000 .after a few seconds dropped to 750 .Seemed sluggish to react to closing throttle
Any one had similar problems or cures for same.Been all right up till then
Also decided to remo, seemingly under the instrument pod .There are two bolts do they mean those?
Still not sorted the turbo boost gauge but dont ask me why but the trip computer has started working again on its own .A good tip was to shine a torch on the display and could see it was working but no illumination now there is.

Thanks

Just a quick pic from the net....

Mine does the same thing when I leave it over winter... always best to give it a quick clean now and then.

My GTA has just started to do the same thing but hasn't revved as high as that (bout 2000rpm) and when left for a while settles down to normal. Thanks for the heads up Lee, will see if I can get off and get it cleaned.
